How would you finish this room?
Comments (18)I really think you should take @Jamie Ludwig's advice to heart. Will save you $$$ and get you to the look YOU want. That said,if you want to know what I'd do .....I'd determine if I wanted to keep all the soft furniture neutral or if I wanted to add colour and/or pattern. My inclination for this space would be to stay neutral, add layered blues with accessories only, and add subtly patterned drapes that have the least amount of contrast with the wall colour. I'd also think about how much storage I might need in the room and plan for it. Will it become toy central? & of course, tables and lamps(ooh, that might be good place to interject some blue) and plants and art. Right now you have a pretty space, with many possibilities. Sometimes all those options can seem overwhelming and that is why Jamie's advice is so spot on. ps- If you share some inspo pics of rooms you love, you will get much more specific advice...See MoreHelp with finishes for my modern great room
Comments (8)Do you like being stuck with 50 shades of gray? I would look for some large colorful art pieces for behind the sofa and dining table. You can even frame large sections of fun/unique fabric or wallpaper and make your own art. Take a cool painting one of your kids made and have it blown up and printed on canvas. If you have the budget, visit local art fairs or galleries and purchase large canvases. Do not buy something just because it matches or is the right size. Buy something because you love it and it "speaks" to you....See MoreHow to finish FROG (finished room above garage)?
Comments (12)Not sure if this pic is any help. most of the space is useless, but not those yellow spaces. This room is already framed. Standing in there, i would say the small spaces are 3.5 ft deep, 2.5ft wide, and 3 ft tall (at shortest point), finished would be about 3ft deep, 2 ft wide and slope down to a 2.5ft ceiling. Im leaning toward finished closet space for the big yellow with a half door, walling off the other yellow on that wall, then finishing the nook on the adjacent walls....See MoreThis room is missing something , but i dont know how to finish it..
