I would suggest a smaller terracotta pot (this would be temporary). keep the mix slightly moist and use a plastic bag over top of the plant (propped up by sticks or something similar, so that the plastic bag is not touching the plant) don't tie the bag closed so there is some fresh air. I would also remove the bag periodically (every few days or so) and leave it off for a few hours. The point of the bag is to increase the amount of humidity, removing the bag gives you the opportunity to check the soil and make sure the plant is not getting worse and allows the plant to get fresh air. You want to place this plant in its "mini Greenhouse" in a bright (but no direct sun) position and keep the plant as warm as is possible. Good Luck Fred

Hi Anthony. Don't be hard on yourself. Just learn from mistakes. Even the more expert here still make mistakes ;-) Anyway I'm no expert, but I can suggest a few things that I've learnt on this forum (but just my opinion) and then hopefully some others will come in with more eg. Don't listen to Helen :-D I agree that it needed more sun, not from being droopy, but from growing stretched out, looking for more sun. I would pull off the bottom most damaged leaves (I can see 3 that I would pull). Bagged Cactus and Succulent soil is too water retentive for succulents. Unfortunately the better the quality the more water retentive because they put in water holding stuff. So cheaper the better. Succulents prefer faster draining soil. A lot of people here use a 50/50 mix of C&S soil / Perlite (rinsed through a strainer. I use it too now - much better. Many of the more experienced growers use less (or no) C&S soil and use other inorganic stuff. But it needs to be the right size. For me - I might look at that later. Another common problem is what we consider as dry. I've found from this forum, the easiest is poking a wooden skewer down to the bottom, leaving for a few minutes, then pull it out. If it's all clean it's dry, if it's dirty then the soil is still damp or wet. The sunburn on the leaves doesn't heal, but the plant will eventually drop those leaves as the plant grows. The only reason I can think of for it to be droopy is watering too much and/or the soil staying wet. Some might suggest repotting into better mix. That way the roots can get checked for rot, and dealt with. I would probably do that. Some might suggest beheading to get a more compact plant, hopefully two as the top can be replanted. Personally I wouldn't until the plant is in good mix for a while and well established. I think I've said far more than needed. I'll be interested to see what others suggest. Oh boy this sucks;)! Euphorbia ingens are cold hardy down to about 28F. So from now on these will need to be protected during the coldest days and nights. I think you've learned that lesson;). Somebody should have made you aware of this when you purchased them. You live in a zone where the temps get down to 10F-15F so the seller should have least tried to sell you frost cloths at the time of purchase. I'm sure those Euphorbias were not cheap. This is tough a one because they're big and the pics aren't very clear. So it's hard to tell what's going on. The areas that look bad are they mushy? Regardless if they are mushy or not there is frost damage. The growth tip is destroyed. So those parts will no longer grow, but will branch on the sides:). So one of two things will happen or a little bit of both. The areas that have been damaged will either dry up like this. The above pic shows frost damage on my Euphorbia grandicornis from last winter. See how the damage just stopped and dried up. I probably will cut eventually. Or the damaged areas will get mushy and spread. Luckily your Euphorbias are on the bigger side so you can kind of wait and see. Keep a close eye on them. Watch for changes. I honestly wouldn't chop quite yet. Wait and see how things play out. If you notice things take a turn for the worse you will have to cut:(. E. ingens can take temps down to 28F, but for most of my plants I don't like to let them go as low as they can go. At least without some major protection. Any growth tips you see that don't have any damage cover with styrofoam cups or similar. This will help protect them. Heck I would even cover the damaged tips;). Then cover with the frost cloth. I know I didn't give that much advice, but this is exactly what I would do. I just think if you go and chop now it may be a little premature. I mean there is definitely damage, but I would just wait and see what the Euphorbias will do.
