Most box stores have kitchen re-facing programs. In our local stores they only offer the wood doors unfinished (in oak and maple).

Thank you for the recommendation. Middletown is about an hour away from here; they may or may not travel that far. However, I did find a company, GoebelWoods, who is able to do it. They did my friend's kitchen cabinets (not just doors) several years ago and she was happy with their service. I called, they came out the next day and called me with a quote later that day! Price seems reasonable and the quality looks good. They use Conestoga Wood for their doors, as do many other companies, including Kraftmaid, that do refacing. Lots more options to choose from than if I chose Kraftmaid through HomeDepot. Doors & drawers will come finished and with my selected hardware and hinges. I will then need someone to instal them and paint the face frames.

Thank you for all the great advice and ideas......I've been pondering what to do in this kitchen for some years and I do plan on changing the layout to a degree. Some of you may recall me posting a few years back. It currently is a u shaped kitchen, with a sunshine ceiling that I detest. My dilemma is the cabinets are high end and totally replacing them to same quality is just out of my budget. However, I still like the door style and color (I know I'm in the minority...please no hate), but I'm tired of dealing with the crappy layout and lack of space, its been 30 years.......The cabinets need sanded and restained, which I'm prepared to do, so should be able to match if I want it to. Also the counterop needs replaced and the tap is starting to leak. As the mock up below shows...my idea is to remove the ceiling hung uppers, base cabinets and wall that separates the kitchen/dining room on the left. Then add a small island with a overhang countertop for sitting at. DW will be moved to left side of sink,and microwave to the wall pantry . To close up 12" sunshine ceiling I'll add boxes and small doors with glass. From your previous great advice, this was the design that seemed to work the best for this space and budget. I was hoping to reuse most of the doors I have now and just have new boxes made if need be. I will need some new doors as well, but with the island and wall pantry I thought I could maybe get away with a different style? Am I just delusion? :-)

Look local. Wholesalers only sell to cabinet makers. And you need the cabinet maker’s labor. You won’t be far from complete replacement.
