Pachypodium lamerei blooming,in ground,SF bay area.

Ok,it took 14 year from a wee plant to its present flower height of 6' to bloom..but I made it. I got a lot of flack back in 2006 when I planted it that it would never grow here or last past one freeze...but I never covered it in 2007,or any other frost.

I think the key is raised bed and CONCRETE..its by the sidewalk. It's one of those tender plants that actually liked to be planted by the glare of summer sun concrete and roots kept dry in winter by that very same concrete. So if you have a opening in your patio pad's cement..this is one of those plants that like that root coverage and of course the more heat the better.
