Oh dear. I know you won't want to hear this, but you will need to look at removing/replacing the Acacia at sometime in the future. I would start saving to have everything changed to a new hardwood throughout the space in the next 10 years or so. To get that to happen (without killing the budget) I am going to suggest laminate for now. Save your money on hardwood, and go for a temporary fix (temporary = 7-10 years) so that you can save up to have all the floors done in one single material. And by the time you have the funds to do that, you will want to change the kitchen. Again, this will work perfectly because once you change the kitchen, you will change EVERYTHING in the kitchen which means you will have a new FOOT PRINT for the cabinets, etc. Meaning you will need to change out the flooring anyway. See where I'm going here? Basically I would get flooring that will make it to the "kitchen renovation" in the next 7-10 years and then have EVERYTHING removed and replaced all at once. The kitchen renovation will include whole home flooring renovation as well. If you must have new hardwood RIGHT NOW, DARN IT! Then I suggest you look at a standard 3" White Oak Solid hardwood that can be site finished. That means you can ADD MORE of this very basic material at a LATER DATE. Anything engineered will never be able to be "added to" without creating the identical dilemma (two different wood floors in the home) that you are facing right now.

Your stair treads appear to be stained. Simply sand them and then refinish them in a natural finish. Be aware that the stair treads MAY BE red oak (which is CHEAPER than white oak). If they are white oak, a natural clear coat (water based polyurethane) will NOT amber or turn a deep orange. I think this has happened to the stairs...or they have a medium stain added. It is hard to tell from your photos. Please add a close up of a stair tread. Please try to photograph a step with the bamboo showing as well as a tread with the upstairs oak showing. That way we can see what is happening. Normally you try to match the stair tread with the PUBLIC area flooring - which I'm assuming is the bamboo. The private areas (normally the upstairs where the bedrooms exist) are stand-alone areas and do not need a match to the stairs.

Hello Juan Ramirez , Without seeing photos I may be overly optimistic - why can't you cut a square or rectangle out of the carpet, pull up the padding, add a schluter strip/transtion strip/tile stop from Home Depot and throw a couple of tiles down over some quick-krete - also from Home Depot? Maybe its a hundred bucks worth of stuff & you keep the carpet? If you want to do the whole floor in the bedroom / vanity - laminate would be less expensive than engineered wood. Of course - they call everything, 'engineered wood flooring,' nowadays.... A real engineered wood floor would be fine - that means when you look at the flooring sample from the side you will clearly see (2) woods glued together - they expand/contract @ different rates making them less likely to get water damage and other science stuff. It'll also be THICK. Hope that helps a little, -frank

The easiest is to get unfinished hardwood for the new and have the old refinished to match in your case you might even get lucky and fid some matching. Probably now is a bit awkward with some closures but I would see what samples you can find. It mentions the floor is new so a better chance of matvching. That kitchen is quite an issue I think I would deal with that first before doing the floors since they can come later after you have decided exactly what you are doing.
