Went shopping for totem bits...
Comments (12)Excellent shopping job!! I love the clear totem, great shape and I love the textures of the glass. I completely love the idea of crystals on the milk glass, and if you find any, maybe some type of "crystal" topper. Oh, just thought of something else you could use, if you can't find crystals, have you seen the mirror garland? It's just fishing line with small mirrors glued back to back on the fishing line at intervals. Like the little round mirrors you can get to put on the end of your lipstick tube? I love shiney :)...See MoreHow far is too far for vacation home?
Comments (34)We seriously considered purchasing a home about an hour and a half away, in good weather. In the winter, it could take hours and hours. An old historical home in the high country at 6100 ft elevation. In the end we decided it was much cheaper to rent the cabin for a week a year, buy investment property closer with a positive cash flow year round. Of course, this is California and NOTHING is cheap. An extra $1600. a month house payment just didn't make sense. But we were tempted until we learned the house has been for sale for three years. LOL. We'd have to keep it permanently on the market if we ever hoped to sell it again. So much for those high country Gold Rush towns in the Sierras that we love so much. Also, once you own a property, those vacation weekends quickly turn into work weekends. We decided to keep it as a vacation spot....See MoreTaking tanning a way bit too far
Comments (12)The media really can lead people around by the nose, can't they? Sounds pretty exaggerated to me. Nothing adds up using anything near common sense. That kid wasn't "cooked" as some want to imply. Good grief. Because the mother looks like Walmart leather goods, people assume the kid was burned beyond recognition? That kid would burn after a couple minutes in the sun. And she wasn't in any endangerment from what they showed of her. If she was in a tanning bed for the time crispy momma goes, she'd be char-broiled. Nothing adds up using anywhere near common sense. Where's the interview with a doctor who treated the "severe" burns? Boy, have I got a bridge or two to sell some people... Nope, I don't buy this hysteria, especially with this little evidence. If the old lady wants to cremate herself that's her business, not unlike the nutcases with botox or plastic surgery. If facts can show that she creamated the kid, there's no penalty severe enough, but so far there hasn't even been a shred of credible evidence presented to warrant even discussing this hyperbole. I'm really tired of media blowing things out of proportion to get ratings and people blindly accepting it because it was in an email, or on the internet or saw it on TV. And the stupid commentary by those dumb anchors prove they're only there because of their looks - certainly not from their "intelligence", which apparently was an optional extra which they chose to forgo. This one is laughable....See MoreCan 't sell your home? -- Maybe it's priced too low
Comments (5)In South Florida we are seeing something I never thought I would see and that is waterfront actually taking a hit. Two years ago a tear down would cost just over a million and this year some have sold for as low as $800k. Most likely it has less to do with the market and more to do with the high cost of insurance and taxes. We have a Toll Brothers development next to ours and they are still selling their million plus homes at a pretty good clip, so the article appears to be right in some respects....See Morejojoco
