I'm impressed!

Sunny days mean more time spent outdoors. More time spent with horses. As much trail riding as I can get in. Nice to finally be able to go and hang out whenever I want, practicing new horsemanship skills and picking up others. It's like being integrated into a new family. Helping tuck them in for the night with a fresh flake of hey. Hoping to get in a beach ride soon. The satisfaction ,along with a lot of laughter and joy of learning a completely, new to me, new discipline.

Beaches have opened in other counties have opened up and I will start visiting them again. A good book, horses and the beach, the perfect trinity for me. Don't need much else.

Have no desire to stay stuck inside and miss out on the wonderful weather. That's for cold winter days.

I love to watch you tube videos. Some very informative stuff, some very funny stuff, some adorable animals. Always a good selection available.

Skills: I know everyone is impressed at how I'm not catching the ball. Doing my part to keep KT the inviting place it is.

I always had zero skills with ball games. Closest I came to being ok at was tennis for some odd reason. Water sports yes. Skating yes, Dancing no, except I can line dance reasonably well. Musical ability, forget it. Sewing and crafting depends if I really like something enough to put in the effort. Don't have a lot of patience for long drawn out projects. Guess I am more an individual sport type person.

My entertainment for the past 2 months has been watching the street rebuild in front of my house. since they are widening the street and adding wide sidewalks on both sides of the street, a lot of wreckage has taken place. They used monster sized backhoes and one front-end loader was 1.5 stories tall. So far, they have yanked down my electric service entrance wires twice and bent the water shut-off valve extension, and I'm loosing 1/3 of my front yard. Also, they broke my phone wires once. All was repaired, but I lay in wait for the next event.

In addition to the street rebuild, they are replacing water and sanitation sewer lines as needed. All sanitation laterals are being redone. Many of the older sanitation hookups from homes dumped into manholes and that is no longer being done. New laterals will connect directly to the main sewer line and the new material is plastic instead of metal. A few old laterals were found to be clay pipe - that is ancient.

I will need to rebuild my driveway. I am loosing several feet of length and there is no parking on my street. I have designed a new wide drive to accommodate 4 vehicles and now must find a contractor. I plan the use concrete, but if that gets too expansive, I'll have to revert to high quality asphalt. (Asphalt tends to crater where a vehicle parks for extended periods.)

The big problem for the driveway build is scheduling. I don't have a firm start date. That has to wait until the entrance apron has been laid and set for a few weeks. That probably won't happen until the beginning of October. Due to the amount of street work this year in this part of the state, driveway builders are booked.

I've been working 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles by myself, instead of 300 piece puzzles with my Dad (He's locked away in Assisted Living. He's happy, safe, and doing well but I do miss face to face time with him.) I've added milk kefir grains to my fermenting 'pets', we've settled in to a routine that yields 2 cups per day. I've taken up very basic level sewing -- just enough to cut, fit, and hand-sew a face mask in a couple hours.

Other than that, it's pretty much same activities as ever -- gardening and reading.

TikTok here too. Introduced to me by grandkids. I also join in on a few video games with them and my son (when/if I'm invited). :)

I have a target range in my garage and from time to time my wife will challenge me to a BB gun shoot-off.

Being called a pen head, bee brain fool, a bold face liar, a Chinese sympathizer, and lastly a traitorous two faced cow by my brother. ROTFLMAO. Can you guess who he's in love with and I'm not?

I forgot to add that it was fun sending his message back to him, correcting his "pen" head and the fact that he doesn't know the difference between your and you're, even though he is SO much smarter and more educated than me. lol

My old fuddy duddy self is trying new things...

so is my old self. like cleaning, sorting thru things. pitching things. some in the trash, some in a box for GW (a lot of books), some in a box to decide next year. cleaning out drawers, putting info on stuff in binders (like the TV, computer, washer, fridge etc) so I can find them when I need them. I'm also doing a binder for my son in case something happens to me and he needs access to my paperwork.

plus weeding and watching old westerns, mostly in b/w. I recently finished the TV series Due South - that was fun and I wish it'd had more seasons. (it's on youtube)
