Green Paint Color for Bonus Room?

Hi All

My DH and I are looking to finish our bonus room above the garage. I have picked out Jackson Oak Smartcore LVP floors, which are a light grey/white. The trim and ceiling will be painted white so as to match the rest of the house.

Our MB has SW Recycled Glass, but we have SE lighting from one large and one small window. The bonus room has one small window that faces NW, which I know casts a greyish light.

I love love love green and my DH has generously agreed to let me paint the room green. He wont accept any other colors.

Does anyone have suggestions of a lovely green that might work?

I like BM Guilford Green on my bedroom.

This is not meant to single you out, and is more of a general statement, but does:

DH stand for "Dog Hater"?

LVP for "Little Vice President"

MB for "Mark BIschak"

SW for "Scratched With"

SE for "Subtle Electric"

NW for "North Wing"

I worked in a hospital for several years and BM will always stand for "Bowel Movement"

An accent wall in any room needs connection to what is in the room, usually in bedrooms the bedding is the place to look for an accent color so maybe post a pic of that and the room . I don't know how old your son is but usaully kids change their fave color yearly so I don't usually paint the walls the color of the year instead use that color for sheets and other less major committment s.But one wall is not too bad to change .

I’m afraid of the wrong color, too... 😂 and usually I am pretty afraid of grey for wall color. There are some exceptions of course, but I’m generally not such a big fan of grey walls. But this BM color, Storm Cloud Grey, is interesting - and the name is somewhat deceiving, I think. I tried the color in this room, on BM site. And tried to do a color match - I like what I see of this color - but best thing is to try some samples in your actual space. Your sofa color is not coming across very clearly on my device. It seems like it might be along the lines of moss green - but hard to tell exactly. And always good to try samples in your actual space with your furnishings and in various lighting, different times of day and night. Samplize.com

4000K is not very blue. you're mistaken kandrewspa. 4000 is very close to neutral. 2700 is very yellow. 5000 and 6000 are the blue/sterile look. I have 4000K in my kitchen / family room and it's perfect. for the living space, 3200-3500 would be fine. but as she said, it's a personl pref. I merely mentioned going up to the 3000's because your room looks very yellow. What you can do is install a dimmer switch (with compatable LED bulbs/canned units) This way when you want more light you have it. or, bring in a table lamp and use that when you want ambiance.

What color is the furniture, etc going to be? What green will go with that?

Sorry I haven't responded....I've been excessively busy. The furniture is TBD. Green will go with the furniture we pick out. I'm thinking, due to the low light, that "Sounds of Nature" by SW.

Our bedroom is Recycled Glass, but that color would be way too dark for the small amount of light through the north-facing window in the bonus room.

It would be much better for you to choose furniture first and then wall color...there are hundreds of paint colors to work with.; you will always be able to find a color to look good.

A less saturated green would be light enough, work with flooring and easy to decorate around.

I love saturated greens. The flooring will be a light grey/white.

The current furniture goes with the green. I'm not worried about future furniture, as I'm sure I can find something suitable.

I painted my spare bedroom that doesn’t get much light a dark moody green a few years ago and it’s my favorite room in the house. Very cozy. The color was Scholar Green by Ralph Lauren. I can post pics if you’re interested.
