help figuring out pedestal installation of porcelain pavers

I'm thinking about using porcelain pavers with a pedestal installation on a raised deck. The deck is sloped and waterproofed to cover an area below. There is a wooden rail which I would like to replace with a metal rail system. I could use some advice on how to manage the perimeter of the tile installation, since the pedestals will be visibly exposed beneath the tile. I'm thinking there needs to be stacked wood fascia (installed over blocking to allow water egress) that would cover the deck support and extend up to the edge of the tile to make it clean. Any other ideas? This is DIY and I don't have an endless budget....
