Continue that same flooring in your kitchen. If your family room walls extend into the kitchen, I'd use the same wall color as well. For counters, bring a cabinet door and piece of flooring with you to shop for counters. If you have your cabinet hardware, bring that too. Do not shop for a backsplash until all other materials are in place.

So the rooms are in front of each other but not connected if that makes sense. Which is why I was so confused about using the same wall color/flooring. Maybe I am thinking to much into it lol. Below is a picture of what I’m talking about (excuse the mess).

Definitely use the same floor, that is a no brainer. it will give a cohesive look to your home and will make it feel larger with the same flooring extending throughout. I would not worry about a wall color until you find your countertop material. There's nothing wrong with using the same color on your walls, many new builds do, again to provide cohesion among living spaces. But there's nothing wrong with switching it up either. In any case, worry less about wall color until you find your countertop, that will likely drive your choices.

If you want it to coordinate with the living room color, I would maybe look at SW 7648 big Chill
or SW 7058 Magnetic Gray. Or you could continue the living room color into the kitchen. I would either continue the living room flooring into the kitchen or stick with a solid tile without a lot of color variation because you have a lot of color variation in the living room floor and you don't want them to clash.

Is that an eat in kitchen or the dinning area? If possible I’d consider removing the left wall or widening the opening which is generally cheaper than wall removal. It allows for the walls to balance more by extending the color from living also, it saves on money and process. You already have the paint and the mix. So no stress on determining the colors. If the cabinets are all gonna be the same but just white then go for it but if not, I’d suggest taking advantage of the opportunity to redo the layout. It’s probably not what you want to hear now but if you’re gonna do something. How’s the time todo it. So in summary, widen opening, carry the floors and wall into the kitchen and for countertop I’d suggest anything marbled. Grey marble or a brown to tie into the floor and if you like backsplash put the same countertop up for backsplash or similar. Or do something different with some fun pop. Can’t really say without seeing living room. I don’t mind the ‘’mess’’ you’re taking care of your family, it’s a living house. It’s not ‘’mess’’ it’s called ‘bits of joy’’ or evidence of family.
