Jane's exactly right about the benefits of using any site-specific app vs a browser for the same website. The biggest thing in my mind is that app pages are typically tailored to the requirements of a smaller display format and touch input. There's no need to enlarge the view, no fussing with trying to push a miniscule button, no searching for an obscure link. App views have readable displays and condensed menus to focus on most people's needs and wants. Also because they're acting as a purpose-built front end with much of the display code already on the phone, they tend to offer faster response times. Perky and Lapsang, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Chief Architect is the professional version of Home Designer, the program I use. But Chief Architect costs $2,000 or more. I started with the $79 version, Home Designer Interiors. I liked it so much I decided to put down $500 for Home Designer Pro, which has a lot more capabilities but not as many as Chief Architect. You don’t need fancy 20K a year software. You can do everything needed with either Microsoft’s Office with or Google suites. Separate calendars for jobs. Shared drives. Reminders. etc. It’s all in how its set up and maintained, and the committment yo actually use it. The tech itself is irrelevant. It is the user that has to use it that’s the issue. It won’t manage you. You have to manage it. Garbage in, garbage out.
