Have you played any games on Zoom?

I'd love to organize a Zoom game night, and was wondering what to play. I'm thinking The 5-Second Rule would lend itself well to remote play, and the game is a lot of fun. I'd probably have to be in charge of the timer all the time and ask all the questions, but that's okay. What other games have you played with your friends and families while Zooming (or participating in other kind of video gathering)? Thanks!

Facetime is through Facebook, so you don't need an Apple product. If you are on Facebook, open Messenger and click on the person you want to see. Then click on the video camera. It will make a video call to that person, so you can see each other while you talk. That is how we did the UNO game. I hope that will help.

I play Yahtzee with my daughter and the grands often. The youngest is 9, and me leading the age thing, 66. But we have fun.

A friend from college told me that she plays cards with her family on trickstercards.com . Last week one of the regulars couldn't make it, so I joined in and played a couple of rounds. On the side we had a zoom chat running.

I began using it last year. LOVE IT! Discovered when I started THIS year's plan that it "remembered" what I planted last year. When I clicked on a veggie to "plant" it, I got flashing red squares where I should avoid planting it this year. Helps you remember to rotate crops! It backshades every veggie according to plant family, which also helps you mix up plant families to confuse pests. Also, I really love the tab "plant list" because after I finish planning a bed, I get an exact count of how many of everything I planted. When I purchased my seeds this year at Victory Seeds, I noticed it gives an approximate number of seeds per packet. Coupled with the "plant list" function, I can avoid running short of a particular seed and having to buy another packet for just a few seeds. Mostly I love this program because I play with it all winter long, when nothing can be done in my REAL garden, and spend many happy hours planning and dreaming about what I will plant. I call it "virtual gardening!" There are a couple of aggravating features, and if you want to know what they are just ask . . . All in all, I think it's worth $25 a year. You could also use the "free trial" and print off your plan before the end of the 30 days, but you'd be giving up the year-to-year crop rotation benefit, and all the fun of tweaking your garden plan all winter long.

pogo games ask you to sign up but they don't ask a lot of info. You can also become a member for about 29 a year and play all the games free with no ads. I'm not a member and there are a lot of games to play and they all have a chat box. There are ALL KINDS of games to play...I love it. patti Here is a link that might be useful: pogo

Stone the Crows Thos pesky crows are bored of the corn fields and have found that nibbling on nice, tasty marijuana plants is rather fun. However, this isn't going down so well with Farmer Sue Tickle who is determined to stop these high fliers from getting high. Load up your rifle and head for the fields. Question.... which version of Zoom do you have? If it's the free version, meetings only last 45 minutes, doesn't seem long enough for a game. I could be really wrong

We played UNO on Facebook facetime with DD's family and had a blast. I'm sure you could do it with Zoom, but I don't know how.

Rob, they may have lifted that rule for now, I don't know. But I do know most of my friends and I have the free version, and our meetings have gone well over an hour. We stopped only because we wanted to stop.

Tami, did you like the Facebook program? I've seen the ads but haven't tried it.

It's a program with which I'm overly familiar ;)

I've been in the free version and been gifted extra time, so that's a possibility.

We do family bingo every Friday evening. We take turns coming up with the words and then create the bingo cards and send the link out along with the ZOOM invite. It's been a lot of fun! https://myfreebingocards.com/

The free version of ZOOM would cut us off at 40 minutes so my sister bought a monthly subscription for $15. We'd be playing bingo, them BOOM, shut down at 40 minutes. No 3 minute warning or anything. Just DONE.

Alisande, I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing this. Facetime video worked great, for just the two families. DD says there is a way to do multiple Facetime calls, but she hasn't taken the time to figure it out, as she has had to use Zoom for the kids's school work, so just uses that for multiples.

Thanks, Tami. I don't own any Apple products, so no Facetime. But you remind me that I also want to Zoom with my grandsons (ages 6 and almost 9). It would be fun to play Hangman with them, among other things!

Allsande, WhatsApp is the Android app that is compatible with Facetime. Works great. I don't own anything Apple or 'i' either.
