Bad smell coming from newly painted, skim coated wall.

Hi all! I have a wall in my dining room that had horrible wall paper from the 70's. I tried to remove it but it would not come off no matter what I tried. I made the decision to have a pro skim coat over the wallpaper. He first sanded a few spots and then oil primed over the wallpaper before he applied the skim coat. About a month after the skimcoat was finished I finally got around to painting it. I applied a coat of water based Killz primer, waited 2 hours and then painted with a water based paint. Now, a week later, I noticed a faint bad smell in my dining room. I couldn't figure out what it was but finally realized its coming from the wall!! This wall separates the dining room from the garage so my first thought was that it was coming from the garage, but it's not. The garage doesn't have that smell. All the paint was brand new. What could be causing this smell??
