Cheap Potting Soil For Kid's Project
Comments (1)Welcome to the forum GoW - It's hard to know how to interpret someones commentary, so I'll ask you not to think I'm talking down to you. I'm anxious to see that you get all you can out of your foray into container gardening and help you along the way toward success. It's helpful to understand the very significant differences between container culture and gardening in the earth. If you read the original post & the subsequent conversations if you like) at the thread I'll link you to below, I think you'll have a much greater chance for a effort:reward quotient that leaves you feeling satisfied. You'll also see a recipe for a soil (the 5:1:1 mix) toward the end of the post that, in the long run, should cost about half as much to make, as a commercially prepared potting soil based on peat would be to buy. It has the additional benefit of being much easier to grow in, AND of providing a much wider margin for grower error in the areas of watering and fertilizing. There are a lot of good people here, most of them very enthusiastic, that carry a positive message and are willing to help you. I'm sure we all hope you stick around a while. ;-) Al Here is a link that might be useful: More on soils. If you click me,I'll take you there....See MoreWanted canna seeds for kids summer project

Comments (6)I wish I could help. I don't know of any that stay small enough for a 2 liter bottle except for some carnivorous plants, and those you would have to order. I'm sure there are plenty out there, but I just don't know what they are. Hopefully someone will chime in with some ideas. I'm sorry! Is the bottle going to be placed on the side, which would allow room for more plants if they stay about 1-2 inches tall, or will it be upright, which might have room for only one plant, but you can get one taller? On the packages of seeds it has how tall the mature plant will grow....See MoreProject Runway 12/5/07
Comments (5)Hi Kids, Did you see it? It was a good one. The challenge was to take fashion trends from the past and update them to todays style. Each designer selected one trend. The designers were then put into teams of three. Each team had to incorporate their trends, now three of them, into a collection of three outfits. The collection had to work well together and blend...'be cohesive'...thank you Nina. I liked the winning team the best...Kevin, Romie and the curly hair girl. Great, updated looks. Cute and easy to wear. As far as the losing team goes, I also agreed with the judges, but I did not think that Chris's dress was the worst on the runway. Granted, it was over the top and not very well updated, but it was not the worst dress. I was sorry to see him go. I thought Stevens dress was dumb and Sweet Ps was ugly. I thought the worst dress belonged to Elisa (?), spit girl. It looked home/hand made and not in a good way. It needed to be pressed. I thought both Veronica and Rickies dresses were beautiful...in a young, young women, kind of way. If the judges were going on the worst dress, it should have been Elisa...even thought I think she is very interesting and I like her. I didn't care for the Zoot Suit Team, but I guess they were able 'get by'. Again, I was sorry to see Chris go. He has talent and an interesting eye. I would have liked to see more from him. I'm already sick of seeing Ricky cry on every show. Bue, even with so many tears from Ricky, I like all of these designers. It's not easy to see any of them go. So far, this is a good season. What did you think? sooey...See More- 6 years ago
