The tricky part is on the steps, next to the cherry wood. That is going to be very difficult to match. You could try to match it, but if you are not successful, and if you can’t learn to love the beauty of the contrasting wood, the only option remaining would be to paint everything white. If it were me, I would reframe my perspective and learn to see the beauty in it.

well, this is the problem. I would love to re-stain it. However, this is Californian Redwood and is endangered now, expensive, and old. There are sooo many areas needing to be redone and I am afraid it is not salvageable. If I can manage to keep some of the siding sections, perhaps I can just replace the bad siding areas and do a mix. I just don't know if its possible to salvage

Kids bathrooms are usually small, so I am not sure that I would like a gray floor and vanity, so close in color. My choice would be either white to give more contrast between the floor and the cabinet.

You do not need to paint the brick, if that's what you had in mind. (I thought you wanted to know what to paint downspouts.) Your house has so much potential. You can take steps to implement changes as budget allows. --Get a new front door and/or paint it a deep red or blue. Paint your downspout a warm taupe color. Thnk about doing the same with the soffit. Get a new wood pillar and paint it the same warm golden taupe. Down the road, install a new walkway in warm stone tones. --Frame your house with well designed landcaping. Resist the urge to plonk any old random shrubs into the ground. Create some deep garden beds and work with a small garden center to choose the best variety of foundation shrubs for your house that grow well in your climate and light conditions.
