Comments (17)Tami, the wind was blowing pretty hard, looked like a hurricane almost out there earlier. I wonder how many trees were lost last night. Someone in the neighborhood always seems to lose a Bradford pear after one of these storms....See MoreTropical storm winds vs the persimmon
Comments (0)I have a small fuyu persimmon that has a lot of fruit this year. Like maybe 100 fruits even tho I thinned it this spring. They are still green so I didn't want to pick them. I'm afraid the tree might be damaged in Florence tho since persimmon don't fall off easily. I have to cut them off when I harvest, so they probably won't fall from wind. A good persimmon harvest is not worth risking my tree! Does anyone have experience with this? What are you all doing? Should I pick half of them off tonight, or let it ride out the storm?...See MoreDoes anyone still have 'Tropical Storm'?
Comments (7)FYI- I noticed Hallson’s 2019 catalog was released and when looking at the listing for Pocketful of Sunshine, I saw their mention of Tropical Storm: http://www.perennialnursery.com/hosta-pocketful-of-sunshine.html...See MoreOn top of everything else, Tropical Storm Cristobal may drop by
Comments (8)On the bright side... we may not have to water our plants for a little while. I'm curious how this one will hit. The tropical storm that hit in September flooded parts of the parking lot where I was at. I know at least a few cars got totaled out. Some of the people I was with couldn't get home for a few hours until the water receded from the roads....See Moreshive
