Suggestions for Decorating Game Room

We're updating a home we've recently purchased that was built in 2006 and heavily decorated in the Tuscan style (dark colors, ornate decor). Our vision is a light, airy, open Mediterranean feel with a neutral palette using bright colors as decor accents. We've replaced all carpet with wood flooring and are in the process of painting all brown/beige walls and trim with SW Alabaster and white trim, as well as painting brown/beige ceilings white. The game room is 32' x 16' - not a true rectangle as several areas jut out - with 12' ceilings. Additionally there are 9 sets of windows with brown plantation shutters; wallpaper below an ornate chair rail (see first picture); a wet bar, built-in cabinets and fireplace, and travertine stone at the entrance. The only thing we've done in addition to replacing the carpet is setting up our pool table, and the other furniture I have for the room includes an upright piano and 3-4 barstools. Retouched pictures below are from the real estate web site and make the room look much brighter than it actually is. The last picture is the current room with the new flooring. I'd love suggestions on paint color (thinking of using the SW alabaster but not sure to what to use below/above chair rail and what to do with chair rail); furniture placement (am open to buying new furniture) and decorating. Thanks in advance for the advice!
