Beautiful room, but there's already a lot of furniture in the space. I believe adding chairs by the windows will create a crowded and cluttered look, which you definitely don't want. Think in terms of keeping a bit of breathing space, and just enjoy the fireplace while seated at the dining table.

I concur with IdaClaire -- I think you have enough going on in that room and besides there is nothing better than dining in a room with a fire!

There is not enough room. You won't enjoy the fireplace when you will be in a corner essentially behind the fireplace. Due to the angle of the photo it makes it look like the room is very long and the table and chandelier are centered but the room keeps moving out toward the camera. If this is the case and you can shift the entire dining room down about 8' and relocate the chandelier on center of the table of that shift you might be able to do two small scale chairs facing each other in front of the fireplace. Thats a big IF however because I cant judge space based on the photo.

Is this the only fireplace in the home? If so was it originally the family/living room?

What about replacing the two chairs at the head and foot of the table with something that is upholstered and can serve dual purpose... dining chairs that can be moved for fireplace seating?

Can you move the bar cart underneath the two paintings on the right? The bar cart next to long credenza looks cluttered. But it’s a fabulous piece!

Have you ever thought about lining the back wall of the tall black cabinet with wallpaper? Maybe a light bronze or pulling a color from the cow painting? I think that might tie that piece with the rest of the room and make it really unique to you😊

The best lesson in Design is knowing when to stop. Nothing needs to be done to this room. Everything else from this point on is dependent on individual taste and is not needed.

Your "mantel" just seems to be a ledge. Why not consider adding an actual mantel there? It would add some needed visual heft to that end of the room. The large buffet and china stole the show and I had to look for the fireplace. It needs some "weight."

IMO chairs are too heavy a solution. I suggest a steel metal pedestal with either sculpture or art glass placed on top. I also changed the mirror to a simple round mirror with black frame to carry the black to the back wall.
