Get some wood putty. It comes in different colors, and you may need to get a couple different colors and mix them together (like play-do) to get the perfect match. Start with tones like "honey oak," "golden oak," or just "oak".

Well I’m glad I’m not the only one! I felt soooo STUPID! I got some Elmers Wood Filler golden oak and mahogany to see which matches best. I wasn’t sure what to do as I am unsure if the finish is veneer, laminate, etc.

The installer who put in the large door panels for my subzero fridges did the same thing. He was mortified and said he had not made a mistake like that in 8 years. Since everything was brand new, his company paid for a new door panel and came back to install when it arrived weeks later. I ended up meeting them part of the way on the cost of the replacement because I felt bad for the guy, as I wasn't sure if the company took the hit or passed it on to the employee.

If you don't like the look of the filler, try putty. For something that's already finished, I very much prefer putty. It's also what I use to fill any nail holes, applied between finish coats.

HU- Those frames look like solid wood: you can see the grain lines continue through the profile, but it could be a good fake. I don't like trying to resolve an error like this with wood filler/putty, because it's hard to make it look good and not stand out. If it were me, I might consider doing something that looked intentional by getting some small wood plugs made out of maple, stain the tops to match as closely as possible, drill the holes the right size, and glue the plugs in. You can get plugs that are flush, button head, etc.: Wood plugs

It’s definitely a veneer as it is peeling away in spots and needs re-glued in spots around the edge. The cabinets are a white Melanie on the inside.

What’s the center to center measurement of the new pulls? Are they a brushed stainless finish?

I would go with Sammy’s suggestion. Filling holes never looks right.

Is there a filler strip that overlaps in a corner that you could pull, remove some material, and reinstall without it being seen? You'd have perfect veneer/stain match. You can't just use a dowel; the grain is running the wrong way. The plug would be a pain to make, but that's going to be the most inconspicuous repair.

The only mistake is the two holes in the picture. All the cabinets are drilled perfectly. I have ordered some filler and some veneer hole caps to see if I can find something that at least blends a little. We will see. I just wanted to make sure there isn’t something I’m not thinking of.

If possible, I’d also move them to the least conspicuous place in your kitchen or house. For instance, if you have the same cabinets/sizes in the laundry, you could swap out doors.

I thought about that, but unfortunately I have no other same size cabinets to swap them with.

If you aren't happy with the attempt to fill the holes, last resort is to use backplates.

Another possibility is to take the doors to a furniture refinisher and have a professional do the work. I guess it depends on how crazy you are going to get each time you look at those mistakes.

That’s a plastic wrapped Thermofoil over MDF door. “Summer Flame” color, looks to be. Not “veneer”. It’s being all it can be. That fix is as good as it gets. Other than ordering a new door.
