Thanks again, Lukkiirish and Bronwynsmom, I got a small can of the English Chestnut and Special Walnut and did sample boards. IMO, the English Chestnut goes best up against my cabinets. Thanks for the idea because I would have never thought to try those two colors and I've already tried several others. We are actually staining the steps that go down from the kitchen area to the basement, so now that I have the color for the kitchen floor figured out, I can stain those steps to match. Then one day I'll get the kitchen/family room (remove carpet and vinyl and put in new wood floors) done, but I do hate that I'm going to have to get the dining room, entry and hall sanded and restained.

I always tell my clients to wait before doing anything major like flooring in a new house . How that kitchen functions for you will be a huge deciding factor IMO . I don’t see the whole space so can’t comment on the layout but honestly a non functional kitchen will make you nuts in no time .Do you love the cabinet color is it something you would have done if you had the choice? I know its a pain but flooring is a huge investment through a whole house so take your time.

@K H, yes they put down quarter rounds yesterday and the builder said that they will put another coat of poly.... after which final paint touch-ups will be done.

Hi everyone! We JUST finished sanding our floors (attaching a photo), and are trying to figure out what color stain to use. I'm attaching a photo of how we'd like the floors to end up looking (natural, with a slight driftwood color). Can someone please suggest a stain? We've been looking at both Woca and Rubiomonocat options.
