American Standard, Dealer said I was buying a 16SEER, same as other qu

So my A/C died here in Phoenix this past weekend. Daily temps at 110+...

I started early Monday and got 3 quotes. I liked the last guy, He told me his American Standard was just as good if not better than the equipment in another quote which was a Lennox 16ACX.

Said his American Standard 5-Ton Gold Split was also rated at 16 SEER.

Install was today, Service was excellent, no complaints yet, until I decide to take a couple photo's to share with friends who have been concerned about my family dealing with the high temps the past 5 days. Photo of the unit shows a sticker which says it's a 14 SEER.

I write the dealer and he replies that rebate only matters what's on the invoice?! Told me as a system, it's a 16 so I shouldn't worry about it.

Was I taken? Any truth to the label being a 14, but the system being a 16?

Compressor is an Ingersoll Rand 4A7A706A1, Coil is a 4TXCC009DS3, Furnace is a AUD2C100B9V5

Thoughts? What should I do?
