What is the metal mesh used under tile floors?
Comments (7)Thank you for the explanation. My entry floor was not level and with some sagging. The old tile floor was cracking and many tiles had to be replaced. I decided to replace the entire floor. They pulled out the old tile and nailed this metal mesh over the wood. I honestly thing they made more problems by trying to level the floor with the mesh. The new tiles are 12" and the floor does not look level now. I can see a dip and was very upset today and told the worker to pull up that part of the floor. Now it is a mess because the cement was hard in places and the mesh got pulled up when he was trying to remove the tiles. The floor is uneven by 1/2 inch even with a thick layer of cement. None of the doors will open and will have to be shaved. My house is full of cement dust and I don't want to let these installers back. I don't know what to do. 3/4 of the floor is tiled, the rest they attempted to pull up today. Jane...See MoreStop trumpet vine from growing under my deck between the wood boards
