What's happening to Touch of Class?
Comments (2)It's probably grateful for the rescue, lol. Good! because it's a lovely hosta, holes and all! Looks like it can use a bit of sunshine too. I'd watch the green leaves. If they are newly flushed, they may still take on colour. If they don't, it's up to you whether to cull them and when. If they remain solid, they will outgrow your TOC soon enough. I left solid leaves on my June for a year. The following summer I was able to remove the solid eye (on both June's) and it is now growing as Halcyon, mama to June. If those leaves are random and don't form an eye, you could twist them off as close to the base as you can and it's done. ;-) Don't you just love the substance of June and her progeny? Can never have enough of any of them!...See MoreWho Enjoyed A Touch of Class....

Comments (8)Thank you, NHL - I can see from your photo why you would suggest RE. I have that one too but this one doesn't have the shine RE has, as Babka pointed out. A couple of the leaves still have that bluish blush to them. I can't recall seeing any blue on RE when I first got it. There isn't much difference between mine and Barb's except for the growth factor of the leaves. Being a bare-root and growing indoors for a spell may account for some subtleties. Another "wait-n-see" scenario....See MoreTouch of Class
Comments (15)Dan, here is a picture of my sister's TOC, I didn't have access to it earlier. This was from 2014. She indicated that it bloomed good this year too....See More- 3 years ago
