The defrost heater and thermostat (for the refrigerator) has no relation to the ice maker function. A harvest cycle triggers via the mold thermostat when the mold temperature gets cold enough (after the water in it freezes). How long are you waiting for harvest to occur?

It’s been 10 hrs. The water is frozen but it’s not dumping the ice. If I cycle it to dump in diagnostic mode the ice is frozen to the mold and won’t dump. i figured the heater on the coils in the back of the ice compart would heat up to thaw the ice enough to dump

This is French door model with ice dispensing in the fresh food door, yes? The ice maker is in a separate small "ice freezing room" inside the fresh food compartment. It has a separate cooling coil to maintain freezing temperature discrete from the rest of the fresh food section. The heating element in there is to self-defrost that cooling coil. Nothing to do with harvesting the ice.

The refrigerator's main control board operates the ice maker. It monitors the mold thermistor temperature which drops at a slower rate until the water freezes, then drops faster. Harvest triggers 1) after a rapid drop of 13°F from freezing (presumably to approx 19°F), or 2) when the thermistor specifically reads 11°F. The drive motor rotates the mold CCW. A back corner of the mold hits a stop on the ice maker housing while the motor continues to turn the front, which flexes the tray to release the cubes. A tab on the drive gear then hits a switch which reverses the motor CW to return it to normal position for another freeze cycle.

Yes that’s the model. So it’s got to be the control board? The only thing I didn’t replace lol. I didn’t think of that because I could run the different parts of the cycle through the diagnostic mode

I would wait 48 hours before going any further with repairs. It may take a while for the system to get on-track with harvesting cycles.

The mold turns over when you trigger a manual harvest cycle? The back corner hangs on the tab and it flexes for releasing the cubes but the cubes don't drop out? Or it doesn't flex?

The harvest cycle will abort without flexing the tray if the bail arm senses that the storage bin is full. The tray will return to normal position but shouldn't fill with more water since cubes are still in it. The control board waits until either 1) ice is dispensed or 2) the fresh food door is opened and closed (on premise that someone may have manually taken ice out of the bin), at which time it runs another harvest cycle to check again if the bin is still full or empty enough to take the dumped cubes.

Ok I’ll wait a couple days. I saw it flex when I ran the harvest cycle through the diagnostic mode but it didn’t have any ice in it. I just filled it and left it for 10 hrs. I’ll run the harvest tomorrow with ice in the tray and let you know what happens. Thanks, you’ve been a great help.

Don't run harvest manually for at least 48 hrs to confirm that harvest triggers automatically. Give it time to operate as it should before assuming that something is wrong.

A newly-installed ice maker (or a new refrigerator turned on for the first time) will run an empty harvest cycle when it cools down enough to trigger the cycle ... which will then enact the first fill for a batch of ice.
