On really hot days, my crockpot is my BFF. A good meal without heating the whole kitchen. Sides generally are salads or (oh the horror!) Jello.

I take a nap and get over it....

I am not a fan of grilling, but I'll use the crock pot out on the patio during hot weather. An induction hot plate works well out there, too. I have used that for water bath canning and boiling noodles among other things. I don't use either if rain is threatening, but we do plug into a GFI outlet so it should be safe.

An electric frying pan or griddle would also work well. I've used them when camping.

DH does the grilling! Even with it being 99* today! I made potato salad yesterday in prep for a hot week (don't usually make it except for parties/cookouts etc., but being Mem Day, why not!) and I'll do a green salad.

I use roaster ovens on the back porch.

I also use a roaster oven on the back stoop.

A fish fry with coleslaw, hush puppies, fried zucchini, etc. I have plenty of crappie in the freezer but it will be another month before the zucchini is producing.

Quick cooking foods, but the AC works great!

Also DH has a mat that works great for doing veges or fish on the grill without them falling through.

Well, lucky me, I live in the PNW and too hot or too humid to cook in the house is pretty much a rare occurrence.

Our summers are very dry and have very little humidity. We do get some hot weather, especially now with climate change, but still very low humidity. It's counter- intuitive for people from other parts of the country who think it's so rainy here that it must be humid. But it's only humid during cool weather, when you don't feel it.

I might not turn on the oven on a 80 to 90 degree day in August, but cooking on the stovetop would not be a problem.

Everything smelly or greasy gets cooked on a little induction burner like Jasdip's on our tiny deck.
