Ken that eye shot is great, well I'm learning new things this year, I figured the fledglings would be chased away by the momma and papa before they even laid eggs again, well I've learned different. My pair of bluebirds are working on their second brood now, the five eggs should be hatching any day now. I don't know if I'll be able to get any eye shoots though, I can take pictures into the box, but I'll probably have to get up unto the roof to get any eye shoots like that as the nest is pretty deep into the box, and the box is too far up into the air. My gut feeling is that my floors are deeper then most on this forum, will be researching it when I go to build any more, all I know for now is they've been building nests and having babies in them for the last couple of years so I don't want to be going and changing to much in design. Hi all, Sorry to resurrect this aging thread, but I wanted to add a few new photos here. Missy has been incubating 5 beautiful blue eggs since Mother's Day, so hopefully we will have some new hatchlings in the box soon. Meanwhile we continue to enjoy the first brood coming to the deck everyday and I just wanted to share a few more shots of them before their father chases them off. They're feeding themselves now mostly, but it seems Mr.B still has a soft spot when they gape at him: I know we're softies too, but we just can't resist these precious little birds: When they empty the worm bowl we put it away until the next feeding. And if they arrive again before the worms do, it's really funny to see them looking for that bowl! :) It's hard to believe the second clutch will be hatching in about a week. We wonder if these fledgings will still be around when the next bunch leaves the nest! Kenn :)

Hi Donna and Congrats on both your 1st-nesters staying and your 2nd nest underway! That's a real sweet photo. :) Our 3rd-nesters should fledge this week-end and we do have fledglings from both previous nests helping to feed them in the box. It's a real treat! If anyone would like to see this, we have posted a video of the whole family feeding the nestlings (see link below) Here is a link that might be useful: Family Feeding Nestlings - Video

Sharla,I have a similar problem. My deck is also broomed concrete(love it),unfortunetly a spelt bloody mary and a few other spots had me out "fixing it".After scubbing with detergents the spots where still in the unsealed concrete. So next out came the jug of muratic acid full strengence(big mistake).Spots stayed but smeared and concrete surface tex- ture changed and really stood out.(bad) To make matters worse out came the pressure cleaner,to have any effect on the spots I had to put the nozzle too close to the surface to get (dig) the spots out! Now no spots, but a crappy looking deck everywhere I "fixed"! So to answer you question,my advice(dubious so far)would be if you go with the acid is to dilute it (start at 10 to 1) do small area(back corner) and slowly increase mix if needed to try to achieve desired results. If this fauils check out New Look .com,they have a water base product for raw concrete that will unify the color of your deck.I just recieve a kit that does 350 sf for $140. Haven`t used it yet,so don`t know how good it works? Picked "cloud" color. Check the site an vidio very interesting. Good luck...JR
