Over on the Tomato Pest & Diseases forum you'll find a long post called Problem Solver 2. Just use the forum search for that form if it isn't still on the front page. It is filled with links to images of the different tomato diseases. Browse them and see if you can find a pic that matches your problems. Off hand it sounds like you have a fungus problem (the black spots) from your description but I can't be sure without seeing it or a great many more details. If that is the case then spraying with an anti-fungus spray such as Daconil (sold under several different names) will help control it. The purpleing leaves and veins are due to stress - normal for a stressed plants - and will disappear once you ID the other problem and treat it. Good luck. Where do your roses grow? What has the weather been for the past month that is different than May weather? Are the roses Hybrid Teas?

Thanks Nancy. There are a lot of pics of WA out there, all looking different from each other. I guess that's to be expected, since cameras don't seem to able to get very precise representations. I don't see any of them with as much white blotching as this one of mine. And the height of mine is only a few inches taller than the Stellas they are next to. Most of the Google sites are saying 30". But the size and shape look virtually identical to all the pics. So unless someone else has a better idea, I'll start to call it Woodside Amethyst. Besides, it's a fabulous name. LOve amethysts. Janet

I live in North Florida and I have had them a year. I fertilize them once every 3months with rose and bloom and I have been spraying them with organic bug and disease control from Walmart buy while I was gone for 2 months they didn't get any thing but water my husband didn't do anything but water them they didn't get any proper attention like I would have done but I appreciate him watering them. :) but now I am home and want to get them pretty again.
