Comments (1)Welcome! A few things. First, you've asked for followups to be emailed to you by checking the box when you started this thread. However, you're probably not receiving emails b/c you don't have the email option turned on in your profile. See the "Read Me" thread for more information. Next, and more important, you will get more responses if you do two things: (1) Post these questions on the "Discussions" side of Kitchens. This is the "Gallery" side that's more for finished kitchens and the like. The Discussions side of Kitchens is for on-topic discussions concerning kitchen remodels. You will most likely get many more responses over there. (2) A measured, 2D layout is the best thing to provide when asking for detailed help, especially if you want advice on layout and you have a difficult or small space. See the "Layout Help" topic in the "Read Me" thread for more information. This layout (and any pictures) should be inside your message so they can be seen immediately w/o having to wander around on the web to see them. Comments (11)Only 12" on each side of the range???? That's barely enough room for emergency landing space, definitely not enough workspace! If the Prep Zone is b/w the sink & refrigerator...it's convenient to the refrigerator but very inconvenient to the Cooking Zone. It will also entail zone-crossing when going to/from Prep Zone & Cooking Zone...you cross the Cleanup Zone. If the Prep Zone is to the right of the sink, it's somewhat convenient to the range, inconvenient to the refrigerator, and will probably mean prepping over the DW...which can be a problem if more than one person works in the kitchen and/or you're not disciplined enough to be sure the DW is not loaded or unloaded or used for "storage" during prep & cooking (I know we certainly are not!) I also echo the issue about the DW... Refrigerator...it's OK to have an oven next to a refrigerator b/c insulation on both appliances is pretty good. However, I would not recommend a SxS or French Door model refrigerator b/c the only landing space for it I see is on the other side of the oven and that means it would only work for a refrigerator that has a handle on the oven side. You say only the location of the window is "almost set in stone". What about doorways? Can the window be moved up/down the wall? Could you post a pic of the entire first floor layout (or whatever floor the kitchen is on)? Have you had a chance to read the "Read Me" thread? Comments (5)Sorry - I was never able to get the photos to post. The nook has two windows with a door in the middle, and the windows are tall an narrow - 10" off the floor. The opening near A is a doorway connecting the kitchen and dining room. Any advice on how to get photos to post would be great! Comments (7)If you don't plan to use the dinette area for seating, you could move the ovens to that wall. I get the impression you are young, but as one ages a wall oven is more convenient. If you choose the range option, that whole space could be used for pantry ROTS, or a framed, reach-in pantry. The ROTS pantry would be as houssaon posted above. If you open the kitchen to the DR, the DW could move to the right of the sink. I continued the counter across the low window, with open space below--I see a pet food dispenser, so that could be kept in the open area. The space to the right of the ovens could be a combination of cabinet and open shelving, or all open shelving for display, since the far corner might be difficult to reach. Or, keep the KA mixer in the corner, where it would be out of the way but easy to pull out when needed. I switched the fridge to the side closer to the DR, with extra deep counters beside it, to match the full-depth fridge box. That would be a convenient area for preparing snacks, serving, and extra prep. I didn't draw it, but you could also make the counters on the sink wall extra deep, to close some of the floor space. BTW, the plan might be off by 6"--7 3/4' + 8 3/4' = 16 1/2'.
