wlbest paint for eggshell wall

Our 90's home are all textured eggshell and pai tes in a glossy taupe paint which I do not love. I am thinking of trying and painting g a few small walls myself.
All of our bedrooms were painted before we moved with a flat paint (Behr Ashen tan). It's a nice paint color, but as someone here mentioned, it draws red. I have been looking at Behr Ginger Sugar and really want to try it out, because it looks really natural and bright.

what should I buy? I don't want a glossy paint, but am looking for a durable one (we have 2 toddlers). Also, I would like to buy a paint with no toxicity. what should I ask the Home Depot paint guy to make? I already have a SW primer at home, should I use it with Behr paint?

I don't know what you mean by "it draws red."

If you want an easily washable paint, then satin or semigloss would be a good choice. Eggshell will be more iffy. In my experience, flat paint is most easily cleaned by painting over it.

Before painting a glossy surface, you should hit it with a strong TSP solution to cut the gloss, or the new coat won't adhere well. Wear gloves.

Sorry about your technical problem. Phones and tablets are just teeny little television sets, somewhat useful for passive consumption of internet junk. That is, they're OK for watching video programs, as long as you don't mind squinting at a tiny screen. They're pretty good for making phone calls. However, I can't think of a worse device for actually interacting on this supposedly interactive medium. As you can probably guess, I'm typing this interactive response on a desktop computer. And stay off my lawn! :)

Re-painting is the only thing you can do. The magic eraser removed the sheen.

It was adhered with wallpaper paste. I don't know where he got the material, but it was not coarse like burlap bags, so I'm assuming a fabric store. It was a really dramatic look because it was well planned. Modern, original art in mostly bright colors, each lit with a ceiling-mounted spotlight. So at night, all the light in the room came from the artwork. Upstairs was the same burlap in the common spaces, but left natural.

FYI I find a difference in flat versus matte finish paint so I choose matte. As for when to paint the drywall needs to be primed first and that has to wait until the drywall mud is totally dry and then the primer needs to be dry which IMO takes a dy to be sure .Use matte for the wall and a semigloss even on the trim , it will be a nice contrast with 2 colors that are close .

My decorator almost always uses 2% (very flat) sheen on the ceiling, 7% sheen (less flat) on regular painted walls, and 20% sheen (eggshell) on the doors and trim. She likes ceilings to be as flat and chalky as possible. Many people use eggshell on walls, but I personally don't like how it looks shiny. I would maybe use eggshell in a bathroom or kitchen, but would never use it in rooms like a bedroom or living room where the walls won't get wet. It just doesn't look very elegant in my opinion - you don't want your living room paint job to feel like a bathroom paint job. Flat paint isn't as scrubbable, but it is easier to touch up with paint - it's hard to touch up an eggshell wall without leaving noticeable brush strokes.
