Comments (28)Thanks Flo! I mentioned silver birch as a possibility but Bev, a pro, said no, but she might not have realized I was considering the Loopy Crab look. I agree, the ceilings of the porches make the wow factor so I would do the same. What about the railings on our house. Leave them white? We have shutters on the front of the house unlike Loopy. Maybe paint those and the front door turquoise too, or leave all that stuff white? PS.. let me know if you want to visit your sister but stay at our house! Haha So much fixing up to do. If you are curious, google “Sandtrap Surfside SC” Feel free to give me tips for the interior! We are looking at LVP floors, new paint etc and I haven’t even picked out these dumb shingles yet....See MoreNewly painted Blue exterior need help picking a stain color for deck
Comments (2)Semi-transparent stain generally isn't very durable as deck stain. It's most often used for vertical surfaces. It also isn't very long lasting on sunny surfaces. Comments (15)brush strokes but no flaking or chipped paint.....a few spots void of paint? You can find the paint if you reach them or did they leave a can. good paint/ good rollers brushes should have left this w minimal issue w brush stroke probs even for just moderately experienced painters . If you cant live with their final product I would use the same color..maybe get superior paint to their cheap pick......better tools and as you say do a couple doors at a time. I think that is feasible. you may have to scuff them w sandpaper....prime some of the poor flat surfaces again. But if the paint has adhered properly / I think you can work with what has been left to you. People get in a hurry, scrimp on time and materials but I'd work w the situation rather than a complete new job. The kitchen is old and you can look forward to a future remodel if you stay modest w these goals....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
