Anyone willing to photoshop some curb appeal for me?
Comments (123)MetroMom- FYI: There is a post on the remodel forum from someone who bought a home with a painted brick exterior. I remebered reading it so I searched and found it! You may want to read his post before you proceed. I know you mentioned something about a concern re: possible transfer in future. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/remodel/msg021538463187.html?9 Hope this helps! Comments (6)The things you're thinking about doing don't make much sense for this house. I would get rid of the silly mailbox, replace the garage and front doors with something more modern. A bright modern double entry door would go a long way to spicing this place up. This house is not Mediterranean and never will be. Don't fight its modern bones....See MoreCurb Appeal; Portico Redesign and Landscaping Ideas
Comments (9)I agree with the direction you're going, frida. My house is small and basically the same shape, but I have siding. I've pinned those same images for my own pergola plans. We're mid-project having poured footings last fall. We'll finish up this summer. We removed our concrete and brick stoop and will have an 8 foot deep front porch that extends to the right almost all the way to the corner. My window to the right of my front door is my kitchen. I'm looking forward to having a small table and chairs on my new front porch. Here's a terrible drawing to explain what you could do, which is what we're doing......See MoreCurb Appeal Question - Awning/Front Porch/Portico ideas needed
Comments (5)Thanks so much, this is hugely helpful. That glass awning shared is amazing. I will see about talking to a local awning company about it to start. The current awning is actually burgundy, not that it makes it much better :). Definitely agree on the landscaping too and have considered starting with yanking that bush out the blocks the front door, even if we wait on the rest until spring. I never thought about the downspout color being different, and now it stands out like crazy. We’ll definitely have that painted to match the brick. Would you leave the other paint as is? On the door, I also like the idea of having the sides be the same color. What color would you paint it? I wouldn’t mind replacing the door but the side lights are matching to the glass - does that matter? There is also a storm door if that makes a difference. The windows are definitely dated but haven’t been the highest on my priority list to change out - as you can imagine, several things inside look like 1995 too. Thanks so much!...See Moreannataylou
