It's most likely related to the amount of sun or water they receive or even the soil they're growing in. I have blood root in almost every conceivable location and the ones that receive less sun seem to hang on to their leaves much longer. They all seem to bloom at slightly different times too which prolongs the season. I like that. Kevin

Our pink lady slipper orchids have been nearly missing the last couple of years. I'm suspecting the drought is involved. When conditions are good, we have a bunch. We just spotted a couple of Carolina Lily, too. There aren't enough of those to dig, but I can keep an eye out for seed structures. I'm interested in bloodroot. All of our offerings are wild-growing on our land, so we must watch seasons for transplanting. Any suggestions on how to make lady's slipper propagate/transplant successfully?

I have seen 9 below, for a night or two. Normally around 14 average. We have a freak 9* in November 2019. It usely does some damage..on inground figs, it doesn’t matter, I give away a lot of what I grow. I am a zone pusher, you expect these kind of things. There is actually a third row not in the picture. As the tree’s getting bigger, the keepers will be easier to select. I do ” not. “ want to be a slave and be overwhelmed. Right now I’m still happy, sort of!

I'm really excited about it ! I think it's a great way to celebrate their 40th season. I like the idea having all the previous winners on the show, even though I was hoping to never see some of them (Parvati) again.
