Fern I.D. help
Comments (3)Its Evergreen Woodfern (Dryopteris intermedia). You can tell because it is evergreen and if you look at the bottom pinna (leaf), the bottom innermost pinnule (little leaflet)is shorter than the next one out. Hope that helps!...See MoreCan you i.d. this fern?
Comments (2)I'll add details (forgive my ignorance of correct technical terms) since I just grabbed one of those left-over fronds and am looking at it: The fronds are arranged like a crown (like the native sword fern) rather than single and upright (like a bracken fern). Each leaflet along the main stem is quite finely cut, and the longest ones are about 3 inches long. The tips of many of these larger leaflets branch or divide about five times, which is what gives the fern its curly "frill". Once the main stem divides into branches towards its end, fewer of the leaflets have frilly divisions (and they are less finely cut), but many still do frill, especially at the tip of each branch....See MoreHelp me with an I.D. Comments (2)it might be a cinnamon fern. they get those brown central stems. look similar to ostrich. they sure look great!...See Moreplant/weed i.d. please?
Comments (4)The flowering plant looks like dayflower, Commelina communis. There are other species of dayflower--check Google and Google Images. It's hard to be sure without seeing the flower. It's an awful pest. My sad story is that I begged my Philadelphia SIL for a piece of this because I remembered a nicer version from my grandmother's garden. She warned me what a weed it was so I never planted it but it colonized part of my garden just from a paper bag on the deck. Hope I'm wrong about the ID of your plant....See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years ago
