It has been zapped by extra terrestrials. The same ones that make the crop circles. Sorry, I'm in Halloween mode, it being October 1st and all. My actual best guess is a vole ate its roots. But doesn't it *look* like it's been zapped by extra terrestrials?

It looks like a situation where you scrape off all you can, removing as much glue residue as possible. Then paint with Gardz primer which seals any remaining glue. Then you have to smooth out the surface with a skim coat. I'm pretty sure Gardz can be used on plaster walls too. It can be used over drywall mud. Check over on the paint forum for specifics.

I’m starting to think there might be an insect issue however. One of my other cuttings has an inflo on it and has begun dropping buds like crazy all of a sudden :( They go from healthy looking to turning black and falling off within what seems like hours. I’ve lost 3 already this morning.

Looks like a fungal/bacterial infection called black tip. Strange though, as I usually see it only in the plant has been exposed to cold morning dew or frost and then people cut it off until they get to healthy parts again. Where are you located?
