Maybe make the sofa and love seat look like sectional....place the arms at angles to each other with arms touching and sofa and loveseat backs against the two walls with sofa on longest wall. Put chairs next to each other side by side on open area opposite the love seat. Add arc lamp behind where arms touch of sofa and loveseat. Does that work? Just guessing here?

Your furniture should be in a ‘U’ shape now with the cocktail tables in front of sofa and centered on the TV? Post a pic if you like it? Laugh if you don’t!

Susan, yes was thinking of doing that! Just hard to center in front of the tv with the backs being against the walls, I have to pull the love seat from the wall to make that work.

Hello again Shelby, Please post measurements of the room including the openings on either side of the fireplace. Also would you and your husband consider getting a loveseat recliner that matches the other brown furniture? Then you would have plenty of seating and the recliner for your husband. How about replacing the coffee table or staining it another color to match the sofas?

Perhaps a loveseat like this one.

Sorry about that Shelby. I see the room measurements. What I need is the measurements of the openings on either side of the fireplace and the measurement of the fireplace.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. To be honest I would prefer no leather furniture so would be looking for new pieces in a fabric. And yes coffee table was not staying.. was going to look for a rectangular one in a different colour.

Measurement of fireplace wall: 71 inches, actual fireplace is 50 inches long 16 inches wide.

Openings on either side: are approximately 52.5 inches

Here are some pictures/ideas/suggestions for your consideration.

Picture #1 is of the living room using what you have and adding some décor.

#2 is if you could switch rooms the dinning room for the living room. It would be much better to be able to walk into a living room instead of a dinning room. I understand that it would mean pulling the wires for the TV into the other room but I hope that an electrician could do that easily for you. Just a thought.

Clarification questions:

1. You are keeping the 3 seater and love seat leather couches?
2. Getting rid of the recliner and the other love seat next to the recliner?
3. Are you open/able to switch rooms?
4. How do you feel about getting a 2 seater/love seat recliner that would match the size of the love seat you already have?
5. If you are letting go of the two couches; what about a sectional?
