Design Help, large blank tall wall in living room
Hi we just finished our remodel and we’re trying to figure out how to fill up this one huge wall in our open concept living room/kitchen. We will not have a TV in this room the floral couch will go but even a new couch and a piece of art will only really fill up half of the wall. would love any suggestions or reference images ( I can’t seem to find many).

4 years agoI don't think having a sofa on that wall is your best layout for the space. I would float a sofa facing the fireplace. I would bring in something tall for that wall like some geometric book cases and flank the sides with art work. Or if you're not that contemporary you could do more traditional book cases or lower cabinets with shelves on top. I would place a cabinet/sofa table behind the sofa and place lamps on it for lighting. I would bring in a chair in the corner to left of fireplace but not shoved in corner out in front of book cases. Anchor it all with an area rug that brings in your cabinet color. A nice large round coffee table. Quick question why are your island pendents installed so high? They need to be much much lower.
Not knowing the style you are trying to achieve this is just a quick idea to show you

Comments (4)Decorating happens where the people live. Lots of folks are closing in those massive open rooms and making a media room upstairs. Heating a wasted space isn't always all its cracked up to be. There is plenty going on below that space - in fact, a little to much, IMO. I don't get those blocky built-ins. Comments (4)what exactly do you want help with Roger? I don't understand what you need suggestions for. which wallpaper to choose? You haven't posted a picture of the entire room, and we have no idea what kind of furniture you're using. So, you want us to pick a panel for you? Just pick the one you like the best and build around it. If you want to do one wall, then do something like this You'll have to get enough wallpaper to cover it, and then pay someone to hang it. That wallpaper isn't cheap, and neither is the labor to hang it. If you're on a limited budget, I don't know what else to tell you. You have an eclectic mix of styles in these rooms and I think something calm and classic would look really interesting ... as well as highlight the wonderful natural light in there and not compete with your more bold elements. Comments (14)Create a pattern of each of them, in paper close to the green color, then use painters tape to attach the paper in different patterns to see what might work. 4 years agoI really like your remodel. love the kitchen cabinet color. One idea for that long tall wall is to perhaps add a tall cabinet to the left of the sofa, possibly an open bookcase or a tall closed cabinet, depending on if you need storage or perhaps a place to show some of your treasures you might have or books, a large piece of art above the sofa and then to the right a side table with a tall floor lamp. the floor lamp will balance off the tall cabinet on the left and the sofa and art above will connect the middle part of the wall to the two ends. a few ideas on tall cabinets....

4 years agoI really love your space! I agree with some of the other comments that perhaps a triptych piece of art would be great at filling the space. Something with bold colors or bold imagery would appear larger too. I am a professional artist and know lots of other fantastic artists that I can direct you to for inspiration. 4 years agoColleen if you notice I mentioned placing a console behind the sofa. This would mean you walk into the space to the console. So in essence you are creating an entryway
