Does anyone have a Wolf induction cooktop or decide against one ?
Comments (28)It's not too loud most of the time, but is noticeable when the room is otherwise quiet. I am staring to get used to the sounds made by the cooktop. They are louder when the pan is cold or empty, and the sizzling or bubbling does effectively cover up the tick-buzz rhythm. It also varies depending on what utensil is being, used with cast iron being the quietest. My Calphalon Contemporary Stainless 10" skillet is the noisiest , but a similarly sized Scanpan non-stick makes only moderate noise as does the 3 qt. Calphalon saute' pan. I guess it has to do with resonant frequencies and the physics of the situation. Since I really like the cooking performance, layout, efficiency and easy cleaning of the stove I will learn to live with the sounds it generates. My only other complaint with the unit is the childproof lock. I have no need for a nanny looking over my shoulder making sure I don't do anything dangerous. The unit doesn't even turn on unless there's a appropriately sized magnetic object on top and shuts off if it gets too hot. There are no locks on other types of cooktops. It is annoying to have to wait for the controls to unlock, but I have found that if I put a wet sponge on the "key", it will enable the controls while I do other things. Is there a way to permanently disable the lock feature for us grown-ups?...See MoreWolf modules cooktops - anyone have ??
Comments (0)Does anyone have two or more ? I was wondering if you used the bracket supports for your installation of more than one module. We also have the downdraft. Any help would be appreciated....See MoreAnyone have a Wolf gas cooktop? Or another cooktop you really like?
Comments (12)I agree that the Wolf cook tops are nice - my parents just did a massive renovation (gutting) of an entire house - and they put a Wolf 5 burner cook top in - granted it's not the commercial scorch your eyebrows of the BlueStar and others in that sphere, but I have cooked on it several times and think for the everyday cook it is just fine - and has a nice fit/finish to it (at least to my eye). We are just starting to build a new home and I will be looking very hard at the 36 inch Wolf range top (I want and would use an integrated griddle quite a bit - so want to do a little research and hand's on experimentation on that part before I make a final decision)...See MoreHestan induction cooktop? Anyone have any experience with them?
Comments (4)I've never purchased Hestan kitchen appliances before and so I wanted to give them a try this time. I've ordered the Hestan Smart Induction cooktop, single wall oven, microwave drawer, and a dishwasher from Appliances Connection. Big mistake ever. Appliances Connection charged my credit card immediately even though the items were not available for shipping and are still on backorder as of today. My kitchen remodel project was put on hold for a long time because of. After waiting about 10 weeks or more, I've finally received the induction cooktop only. I was so excited and could not wait to try it out. Right after the installation, we did the test the very first time, and one of the back burners failed to power on. I immediately called Hestan customer service, they picked up the phone and advised me to email the information and someone will get back to me. Emailed them per their request and no one contacted me. I waited a few days and called them back. This time they promised to have a service agent to call at the end of the day. A month went by and still nothing. I then had to contact Appliances Connection to see if I can return the defective unit. I was advised that once the unit is installed, they don't accept the return even though it was a defective unit. Is this how people doing business nowadays? This is not just a few hundred dollars order. They took my money, 3 months after they shipped the defective unit, and didn't want to do anything to correct the issue or refund my money. What a rip off. I am going to report to BBB and hire a lawyer to get my money back. Save yourself money and headache, please tell your family and friends to stay away from doing business with Appliances Connection and do not buy any Hestan products. They do not stand behind their products. I would give them zero star if I can....See MoreJulie Hagensen
