tile backsplash edge window only one side

Hi there, tiling behind stove and on the left have a window, not worried about that edge but on right should i go to wall (worried about moving shelving?) Would like just the stove area to be focal point. If i stop where my diagram shows on right, would i use pencil only on top and right? Somehow this is a problem for me, please advise. Already purchased pencil. Cabinets below. Also thought of adding (extending) top right shelf to tile. I hope that makes sense. Repainting kitchen and cabinets also. Thank you in advance, very basic kitchen needing some help, low budget

Forgot to mention, now looking at this, can add small shelves on left side of cabinet to window to balance out a bit more. What am I missing? Or just tile a square behind stove only size of space between stove and vent?

I have a white/gray stone tile and it's thicker than a typical subway tile. Tonight at Home Depot I put a Schluter brushed metal tile edge against it and was surprisingly pleased with the result. Even though it's a vintage (1920's) style kitchen, it works with some of the modern elements like the stainless steel fridge and lighting fixture.

I have windows down to the counter (highly recommend!) and used Mocketts -- yes, it passed inspection in my jurisdiction. I guess you need to continue with the schluter edge since you have it in the rest of the kitchen. I’m not sure why you needed on that outside corner at all. Since it’s solid marble, when it’s cut it’s still marble. A well done corner shouldn’t need trim. If corner trim must be used, that is absolutely the wrong one. The one he used is edge trim, which is only meant to go under the tile on one side, which is apparent since it is the same as the one used along the top edge. This is the right one, if you must have one. Really, the thing you need to specify is getting your money back so somebody that knows what they’re doing can finish the job. Sometimes you just need to cut your losses. I can sympathize. We hired “a guy” that had done work for a friend for our drywall. Gave him a down payment, but after the first day we realized The holes for the recessed lights were being cut very badly with a drywall saw and would not be covered by the fixtures. Seams were the same. Rough cut without a straight edge and put up even when they were a bit too long so the bottom got crushed and couldn’t be screwed to the wall. It was bad. We gave up our deposit and told him not to come back, then hired someone that knew what they were doing. I find it difficult to believe that the person responsible for that has the ability to do much better. I don’t understand why it’s so awful here if the rest of the kitchen was good?

Karishma, I really like the photo that you posted of the white hex tile. It is a subtle but cool feature. As well as a fun and a refreshing change from the ubiquitous full tile splashes. With a backsplash, I don't think that 'too trendy' is a con. Backsplashes are not forever and are generally a small area that is relatively easy & relatively inexpensive to replace. A good spot to have some fun.

Also have since moved the fabric skirt to the right. Adding new base cabinets next spring to fill and balance lowers around stove, new counter top etc

Alice, are you tiling the backsplash above your counter as well, or do you have a backsplash of counter material there already?

Also, full sentences are appreciated (noun, object, verb) - and free! They will make it easier foe us to understand you.

Eam44- sorry my grammar is broken, lived up north, way down south and some Korean and spanish mixed in, most likely I talk funny too, lol. I do have a 4” backsplash on other wall that is my formica countertop back splash that I am replacing with a butcher block type counter in the future and that will not have a built in back splash, then hopefully continuing tile to that counter space. For the meantime i would like to paint that area under and up sides of window for now to match tile that will be behind stove and that also matches my new cabinet color throughout the entire kitchen. Thank you for responding. Opposite wall in kitchen has an old dresser that I refinished with other uppers. All getting new paint. I have been on HOUZZ with this similar dilemma previously, and received great help, I believe that I will have to seal my shiplap areas for tile application. Clear as mud?

May help to see some of my colors I picked out, what do you think? I know my style may be vintage dutch somewhat? And i picked up this tile long ago and really wanted to use it, i have pencil that matches but not sure where to outline the tile if i don’t go all the way to the right wall. Do not have lot of this tile but maybe i can stretch it to wall if i can visualize where to stop above? Maybe i have been asking the wrong questions? See pictures of tile, cabinet color i want to use and color of countertops. Walls are staying white, although these pictures don’t show that well. And maybe I need more lighting? The last picture is the top tile. Thank you again in advance for your suggestions.

Looking for new accents for my shelving also, for they are too cluttered as is and I ran across this today which i think will be nice. That’s another question, what color to do the shelving? Use the blue or match the ultra white trim? Open to any suggestions on that too.
