Antique Sink- Faucet Help

We are currently working on a bathroom remodel (1920's bungalow) and are essentially redoing the previous owners 1980s reno. We've replaced the linoleum with black and white hex tile, luckily they left the cast iron tub and I re-enameled the blue "marble" shower surround. There was a shell pedestal sink that we're replacing with a vintage sink we found at a flea market. The problem is the antique faucets (that I love oh so much!) don't have modern plumbing; they are barely too small for the 1/2 inch water lines- it feels like it's ready to catch, but won't- its not stripped either. We tried 7/16 connectors and they were too small. Is there any way to make it work?? If not, where can I find some interesting faucets that match modern plumbing?

The pictures are from when we picked the sink up, it also has a cool pedestal that's bubble wrapped in the photo.
