The tiles should go like Option B above. You are supposed to walk over the longer side when you enter through the doorway.

@Design Girl Should I stagger Option B or look cleaner not stagger Option B? I have a few more baths. Can you help check. My guest bath seems to be the wrong direction or since my shower wall tiles are horizontal, I should also go horizontal on the tiles. Please help with powder room. Option A or Option B. The direction is so confusing to me. Thank you.

@juliacali - The rule of thumb and the one I always follow is that when you walk through the doorway and into the room you should be crossing the longest part of your tile. So in your question above, the 26 inch side goes horizontally or from left to right when walking through the door. I lay my tiles in a brick pattern (staggered) Hope that helps.

@Design Girl What if you're opening the door and walking into a shower room where the wall tiles are horizontal (see Guest Bath above), is it okay the floor tiles would go vertically (long part)(perpendicular) against the horizontal shower wall tiles?

There is usually some place in a space where the tiles will be going in a different direction - some rooms you walk into the space and a shower is off to the left or right. In your guest bath above, it will be fine. The only thing is that if you haven't staggered the tile in the shower, then I wouldn't do it on the floor.
