Something to think about....a little morbid
Comments (14)Dear Oleg, I'm sorry about your brother. It's robbery to charge that much for a loan! To borrow money to buy a car, it's often 0% from the car dealer, or maybe 1.9% on a sale day. Banks charge more of course. Credit card companies charge 20%+ interest each year if you don't pay off your balance. 300% is what a "loan shark" would charge...I can't even imagine! ******* On a nicer note, I was at a local church's "Autumn Festival", sitting at a table with various bulbs, and it was so much fun to hear stories today from families and how amaryllis were a part of the family. There was the one woman who just knew her evil sister-in-law had gone to her grandmother's house to dig up the heirloom Amaryllis from the flower bed after the funeral. Apparently, when other family members went to the home to dig the bulbs up for their own use, they were all gone! And another story between a mother and a daughter who were standing right in front of me; the mother had given the daughter her amaryllis bulbs because she was moving, and the daughter loved them so much that she said, ..."you're not getting them back!" Poor mom had to find a couple new bulbs, which her daughter referred to as the "new mothership"! It made me laugh!! Several children were getting a single amaryllis bulb to take care of, until they can be planted into the garden in the spring. It's almost like they were selecting a new pet! A troop of Daisy (Girl Scouts) were given hyacinth bulbs to learn about bulbs. They invited me to come talk to them at a meeting in April....how old are they...6 years?? I'll make little Hippie addicts out of them and/or their mothers!! One woman bought some paper whites to force in her mother-in-law's room at the nursing home. For those that don't liked the scent...I know what you're thinking!! And two friends bought some assorted spring bulbs to plant up in pots so they'd have matching spring bulb bowls! It was a GREAT DAY!! I'm tired, but I love getting people excited about Hippeastrum! Stay well!! Kristi...See MoreSomething To Think About My Friends...
Comments (8)Thank you, Jennifer!! I really love these too!! " Releasing Expectations.. ". Lololol!! How Appropriate .... These points are very meaningful and I have always loved the Hawaiian customs. I need the healing of the Pacific and the warmth of a beautiful beach.. Mmmmm, I think this is just what the doctor has ordered???? I agree with you!! Shaved ice is tasty, but I still love a good ice cream cone!! We can agree to change a few, yes??? ;-) its getting chilly here in VB and they are calling for lows on Friday night to dip down to the low 30's.. I STILL have a few trees outside to lift up via the balcony, so I think I'll be busy for the next couple of days. This has been such a mild fall and I know this has been the latest that my trees have been left in line to start the " March...." Hope you and yours are doing well!! :) Laura...See MoreSomething to think about-overgrown veges/fruit

Comments (31)I find the masks uncomfortable and a bit difficult to breath through, but I think I will stick with them. And continue to do my utmost best to maintain the 6 ft. social distancing rule. Last Thursday I decided to make my now once a month trip to Walmart for needed groceries, etc. They are still watching the entrance-ways and offering hand sanitizer. They didn't seem to be monitoring the number of shoppers entering, but might have been. The store was not crowded at all, and all but one customer I saw were wearing masks. Just one young man was mask-less, and he seemed in a big hurry to get out. Not many seemed to be paying attention to the aisle direction markers, but it is very easy to get to concentrating on shopping and not thinking about which direction you're going in. Most shoppers seemed to be conscientious about the social distancing. Then Friday I again went out, this time to HEB, again for my once a month trip there. BIG mistake! Store was crowded, no employees watching the entrances, no offer of hand sanitizer or wipes, no evidence of carts being wiped down. The aisles were more clearly marked with directions than Walmart's were but no one seemed to pay attention. People were in general almost rude in their behavior towards each other, completely disregarding social distancing. I was looking for a certain brand of bacon when I noticed a women in front of me, facing me, about to shove my cart out of the way with her cart, so I was going to back up so she could get what she wanted and get out of the way. I took one step backwards and ran into a guy who was that close behind me! I hadn't been aware he was there, so close. I don't like strangers that close to me even under normal circumstances! I was too shocked to say anything to him. But I did pick up the few items I needed and got out of there as fast as I could. Perhaps being the day before a holiday had something to do with it, but I don't really think that is any excuse. Rusty...See Moremaifleur03
