How many coats of red paint?
Comments (2)It's unusual for reds these days to take more than three coats. Formulations offer better coverage and also *most* paint counter staff are pretty good at telling people if they needed a tinted undercoat/primer to aid in opacity/coverage. If the final coat looks 'full bodied', even and not streaky then you're there as far as coverage. If the color doesn't look quite like the chip just yet, it may need time to cure. Paint colors with a lot of colorant (not unusual for a red) can take longer to cure and dry out to the final-matches-the-chip color. I'm talking a couple days for the color to 'come up' and match the chip. The actual paint film can take a couple weeks to fully cure....See Morehow many coats Valspar paint?
Comments (2)This depends on if the paint is washable or flat. If it is flat, then full color coverage is the only thing that matters...if it covers in one coat, then you are done. For a washable paint, the best system is always one coat primer and two coats finish, but the 'standard' is probably just two coats finish with no primer. If your painter did not make a recommendation, then I would be asking why not? A true pro should have recommendations. It is their job to educate the customer....See MoreHow many coats of paint/primer should I use?
Comments (3)I would do one coat of primer and 2 coats of paint over those walls. Two coats of paint always looks much better....See MoreHow many coats of paint/primer on retextured wall?
Comments (3)I’d rely on the crew to advise. We did a ceiling in a texture . They used a wet plaster of some sort and implied any top coat was my preference. I ended up sanding off some of the pronounced peaks after they finished... ( happy w that) for a little more subtle effect. and proceeded w thick nap rolled on ....matte ceiling paint that I had them tint away from clinical white. This was to deal w some ceiing repair uneven ness and it created atmosphere too. It can work . I was insecure abt it but it was correct to do Given the options . But talk w them when they come. A kitchen wall ... I’d ask for the least bit texture and get a paint /primer all in one product . I’d lean toward matte but high quality so if you wipe here and there it won’t pull off and take the texture w it. You really want kitchen WALLs you can WASH but maybe this area is off set. Are u sure this is only option?...See Moretedbixby
