Home Depot/Lowes tile O.K.??
Comments (8)Thanks, Bill! I was hoping you would chime in. I will relay this information to my daughter and son-in-law, as they are the ones who are ready to remodel their bathroom. I already have a great source for tile and tile work that I have used twice, but it is 3 hours away from them. They will be doing the tile work themselves (son-in-law's father will), so they just need the tile. I was considering ordering the tile down here and then they could have it shipped to their home. So great of you to continue, year after year, to help us all out with our tile questions. Greatly appreciated....See MoreLowes Shenandoah vs Home Depot American Woodmark
Comments (8)thanks a bunch - I'll have to check out the "details". Right now Shenandoah is offering free glaze upgrade until the 20th (but it's not on the Lowes website) + the dollar discount depending on how much you spend. HD is offering the dollar discount on how much you spend then after the 24th a free sink base. So it will REALLY be down to the details (which DH hates - he would rather just go and buy and not "shop"). The HD cabinets were the Savannah Maple Auburn Glaze & I think the Shenandoah were the McKinley Maple Auburn Glaze but I might go with Portage instead. I've already found all of the appliances online (not ordered yet but on my spreadsheet) with major discounts compared to any stores. A...See MoreCepac vs Home Depot vs refin lantern tile
Comments (6)Thank you! That looks beautiful 1929 Spanish! I ended up with the more expensive one just because I felt like it might be easier to cut. Could be totally wrong. I have saved so much on this remodel and at this point I need that level of customer service to keep me from screwing up as I near the finish line! That said, I ordered bin pulls from Kennedyhardware.com at $5 each instead of rejuevenation at $14. SO MANY DECISIONS!!! Thanks for sharing your photo. That is exactly what I was hoping for. It looks fresh and fun and still classic. On to the next decision! How did you finish the edges (bullnose?)? Thanks, Adrienne...See MoreBig Box store {Lowes, Home Depot} to remodel our kitchen yes or no?
Comments (10)if there is no change besides ripping out soffit and new electrical, I would visit your local hardware store with a good bulletin board. A lot of handymen are actually previous employees of bigger builders/etc...for various reasons they go off on their own. Interview by phone or email. Tell them what you want done. The electrical part will probably require separate group to come in. I would probably use Barkers or Conestoga or similar-online source of design and detail work for ready to assemble cabinets......they ship to you. Putting together is the job of handyman guy with good carpentry experience-it's not rocket science. If you are in a smaller area, I wouldn't like the Lowes/Home depot crowd to be in charge..... I notice in a larger geographic area, some of their stores have really good experienced designers. In a small area, that range of experience might be limited. Too little time and too much risk to mess around. Of course, you should offer more info on this website about your PLAN-the process follows plan. Your plan might be different once you look hard at all your choices and budget and get feedback....See Morejulieste
