Check all the pieces from Coretec before installation! We had a Palo Alto Walnut Coretec floor installed in August. As they were getting ready to install the T-moulding I realized the color was off. Also it was supposed to be skimmed in the same pattern as the planking but wasn't. They didn't install it. The quarter round was also off but similar enough in color that we agreed to keep it. FIVE MONTHS later Coretec informed the installer that Palo Alto Walnut is discontinued and we won't be getting the T-moulding. Back to square one. I am so frustrated. My guess is that they are outsourcing the trim pieces without telling anyone. Someone mentioned that Shaw bought Coretec.

Coretech is a great mid-level to high end LVT flooring company. We will only offer the mid to higher end brands of this material and Coretech is one of them. We also like Beaufloor. MSI is another one we have been introduced to recently, but have not used it yet. 12MIL thickness is lower end. 20MIL is higher end with a thicker wear surface. I'm a cabinet person by trade, but I've learned these things from listening to my flooring guy on staff. I do believe that Beaufloor is one of the only brands that do not have limitations on required transition pieces. For instance, if you are doing a whole first floor....they don't require these expansion transition pieces. Some brands do. So if you have a huge expanse....keep in mind that a transition piece will ruin the look.

I would appreciate anyone's comments on this manufacturer or the color. It appears to be made in China. Is that the general industry of LVT?
