First of all, you need someone who knows how to work with the product. Second, estimates mean nothing without knowing what the substrate is (what you call subfloor). Any professional installer will give you a figure, which will include any necessary preparation he or she deems necessary after examining your substrate. Third, ballpark figures mean nothing, without knowing where you hail from. Market prices for installation vary greatly depending upon location.

My opinion: hire someone experienced in Ikea cabinets, OR put them together yourself. In our last kitchen, I put all the cabs together with the help of a young friend/kid we paid like $10/hour (but I was right there with him.) The carpenters hung the boxes. Since they'd never worked with Ikea cabinets before, they did not use the Ikea wall hardware, and they swore and cursed over the (foreign to them) legs and toekicks. Ikea cabinets are different from standard ones, and these guys didn't take the time to read the directions and do it right. So they just screwed the boxes to the walls. Thanks goodness I put the boxes together, they probably would have just screwed those too!!! I think it would be worth your while to find an experienced installer who knows Ikea cabs. Especially if you choose not to put them together yourself. But it's kind of fun, actually!! get 2 or three friends and a couple bottles of wine and make a party of it! You should be able to get recommendations for installers from your local Ikea. Or search "Ikea" in the labor section of craigslist.

I'm going to amend my previous posting - if he is using the spectralock/laticrete and you have a diagonal pattern I think $9 is reasonable. If he is using any of the "special" lines from laticrete, such as the glow in the dark or the sparkles then the price is actually on the low side. Laticrete is incredibly expensive. I spent close to $300 on supplies only for a DIY kitchen floor; that's just the grout and not the tile. Sanded grout would of cost maybe $25. And depending on the type of tile you have, epoxy grout may leave a haze that takes much longer to clean than sanded grout, so that's additional labor. However I think epoxy grout is worth the price ... never stains and never needs to be sealed.

I’m in a hcol area and that does seem high. It says delivery of granite: is he getting it from the stone fabricator and transporting? Maybe he’s including risk of damage for that. If the counter and vanity and faucets are at your house, that seems high. That said, it’s impossible to get people to show up to do small jobs around here, so I wouldn’t be surprised to pay that to just get it done.
