I don't have a glass mounted TP holder, but I can visualize what it would look like to a person in the shower. The adhesive posts stuck to the glass probably look bubbly and maybe white or yellowish from the adhesive pads? I would consider getting a piece of dark tinted film like the kind you use on car windows to make them dark for privacy. I think this stuff just sticks by using some water underneath. Wouldn't that hide the ugly nature of those posts? If it doesn't work, just peel it off.

The contractor came by today-- You are right. it is NOT installed correctly. He said the gap may have to be there, but probably should be less than 1/2"---it is also lower on one side than the other. Shower door man is coming back to adjust it. (hope it can be fixed without too much of a problem, but I'm spending a lot of $$$ for this door. It needs to be right. Thanks

If you had a canister steam cleaner, you could use the narrow steam nozzle and steam out the gunk before it reaches mildew level. Something like this: canister steamer

Perhaps your contractor estimated it like that because they are going to take 2 trips. When our glass installers were here they didn’t seemed rushed, just efficient. It’s possible they want to do one at a time so he told you they’d go into that second day. Were you home on the day the glass person came to measure? I remember the glass person talking to me about a few details (width of mirror bevel, type of shower door handle, etc); did you have the opportunity to meet them and get a sense if they seemed comfortable and competent? At the end of the day, if your GC hired them, he/she is responsible, so hopefully it all goes well. Your shower is very pretty!
