There are a few companies that have pretty knock offs of the Norwegian chairs, which are made in China that you might look at. I think one of them is Relaxer. You can also look at few of the other Norwegian brands that are a bit less than Stressless.

We attained this by having a swivel put on a recliner. If we could do it in our small town furniture store I am guessing they all do. We found two chairs the size and style we wanted and had the made to our needs. Ours are both recliners but one has the swivel mechanism. If I were doing it again they both would have the swivel put on.

You can add a swivel base to almost any chair. You just need to make sure you have a solid mounting point in the center of the base. This can be all done by a good finish carpenter.
