Need curb appeal ideas!
Comments (34)Here I am reading the post, not realizing it's old (only on my 2nd coffee) lol I was going to suggest painting it green, but a different shade, or darker grays / more of I guess an earthy neutral. I would take it one step farther and paint or change out the door, but the house looks great! The satellite dish was actually a plus, hope you kept it? I can't tell you how many my son installs especially with football season coming. If people have cable there, they may be looking to move away from it like we most likely will do. Glad you decided not to take the Rhodie out. Depending on where you live, it may not be as hardy in a new plant version if the owners want one or hacking it back very well could have killed it. FWIW, I liked the idea to add decorative lighting to the garage, and would have gone one step farther with a lighted walkway. I went to realtor.com, ask your agent to change out the main picture or if you like the one they have, ask her to retake the photo without the minivan if something happens with the offer. Good luck....See MoreNeeds ideas for painting my garage door. Need some curb appeal.
Comments (4)Add some color to the entry of your home. Maybe even something under the windows to the left that are colorful, warm, inviting. The potted plants (the pots and the plants) on either side of the entry could bring some color and make things seem more inviting. Colorful pots near the garage entrance??? I agree with not changing the garage door. Does it need some more hardware to add some character (I can’t remember the details of the garage door at the moment)?...See MoreCurb Appeal Question - Awning/Front Porch/Portico ideas needed
Comments (5)Thanks so much, this is hugely helpful. That glass awning shared is amazing. I will see about talking to a local awning company about it to start. The current awning is actually burgundy, not that it makes it much better :). Definitely agree on the landscaping too and have considered starting with yanking that bush out the blocks the front door, even if we wait on the rest until spring. I never thought about the downspout color being different, and now it stands out like crazy. We’ll definitely have that painted to match the brick. Would you leave the other paint as is? On the door, I also like the idea of having the sides be the same color. What color would you paint it? I wouldn’t mind replacing the door but the side lights are matching to the glass - does that matter? There is also a storm door if that makes a difference. The windows are definitely dated but haven’t been the highest on my priority list to change out - as you can imagine, several things inside look like 1995 too. Thanks so much!...See MoreNeed ideas for to hide Hvac ducts, ideas for paint colors, curb appeal
Comments (10)I think some kind of trellis or screening structure near the HVAC equipment or at the front edge of the roof as others suggested, could obscure the view. This is required in my area for commercial buildings with rooftop equipment. . In the "improve curb appeal" area, I think a lot can be done with your front yard. The side photo showing a glimpse of the neighbor's iron fence shows a walkway, a green shrub, and some grass. Your front yard could use some attractive landscaping. Or, if time or money is limited, put in some hard scaping - cover the dead lawn with a rock or gravel pattern and have an interesting center piece or two in the middle. Just something to make it look not-abandoned. Also, I think what looks like a chain-link gate to the left of the garage could be spruced up. Compare how it looks to the neighbor's redwood (?) or redwood colored wood fence on the other side of the yard. The wood fence looks attractive, the chain link gate looks scruffy. Good luck....See MoreRozzly
