Asking which is the best brand of faucett is like asking which is the best brand of automobile. There simply is no answer to the question. In must be remembered that faucett manufacturers must produce products to meet all levels of demand in the consumer market therefore they all produce extremely good high end fixtures, commercial fixtures, general purpose contractor grade fixtures and sadly our society demands the "El Cheapo grade". While most consumers equate quality to the finish and final appearance in truth the real measure of quality in a faucett set is in the internal parts that you cannot see. Is the internal body cast brass or bronze or is it just a cheap plastic mixer body? Are the internal valve components high grade metals or plastics such as bronze, monel metal, stainless steel, ceramic or nylon or are they just cast polypropelene? Is the final finish truly plated or is it just a chrome, copper or gold wash? One simple test when selecting a faucett is to step around the corner to the parts section and see if the retailer stocks the repair parts. There is nothing more aggravating than having a high end faucett and find out later that you have to mail order replacement parts from some unknown source half way around the world.

We used Rohl’s Perrin & Rowe lineup in our bathroom reno and couldn’t be happier. Exposed thermostatic shower system, sink faucet and tub filler for claw foot tub and a whole host of accessories. The quality is tangible. We had a minor issue with the diverter valve in the shower (it worked, but it didn’t feel smooth) which Vintage Tub & Bath replaced, no questions asked. Fortunately it was an easy fix on the exposed shower (a few unions). And Rohl’s polished nickel finish is exquisite Now were doing our kitchen and another bathroom and we keep going back to Rohl. We’ve found few options which tickle our fancy and the ones we have, (Lefroy Brooks, Graff, etc.) we’re unsure of the quality. Being a car guy, I like car analogies: A Lexus LS460 is in the same class and possesses most of the same features as a Mercedes S550, BMW 7-Series or Audi A8, and may even give you less problems than the German marques, but a Lexus will never have that same “carved from billet” feel.

I'm with Joseph Corlett, LLC on this one. Moen makes excellent faucets. Delta makes slightly better faucets. Which is probably why our panel of consumers and industry professionals selected Delta over Moen as one of the Best Value Faucets for 2017. Here are their reasons: Delta's Diamond Seal Technology® is a big step up in ceramic faucet cartridge technology. One ceramic disc is impregnated with diamond powder that constantly scrubs the other disk making sure the two discs are always perfectly meshed and cannot leak. The scrubbing also eliminates any mineral deposit build-up between the disks. No one else uses the patented DST technology although In2aqua, the German best-value faucet company, comes close with its Diamond-Like Carbon PVD coating. Masco, Delt's parent company, owns its own PVD company that helped pioneer physical vapor deposition finishing back in the day. All Delta faucets are now finished using the PVD process which results in a finish that is 20 times harder than chrome and very scratch-resistant. Delta has some of the best warranty and customer service in the faucet world. Not as good as Moen, but very good nonetheless.

I ended up here, because I'm redoing my kitchen and trying to make a decision about the faucet. I have various faucets throughout my house from Kohler, Moen, Restoration Hardware, and Newport Brass. I think the Restoration Hardware fixtures are made by Newport Brass, because we had to call them when we needed to replace. We've had them from 10-12 years, so I don't know the styles or even if they are made. Almost all are polished nickel, and the Kohler and Moen are always spotless, laundry room and bathroom, respectively. I'm not crazy about the pull down sprayer on the Kohler. The Moen Showcase (do they still make this line?) is in the bathroom, and I love it so much, because I can just pour water over it and it will dry spotless. It's amazing. It is wall mount, and I wish I had it in every bathroom. Because of my success with Moen, when I needed a faucet for my kitchen, I bought an inexpensive (relative to all the other faucets I have) Moen at Home Depot. It is the only non polished nickel faucet I have. It is stainless steel, still looks brand new (10 years+), and the pull down sprayer works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I'd never buy fixtures from Restoration Hardware again. They spot like crazy. The Newport Brass are slightly better, but they also spot. I'm looking at Kohler and Moen for my new kitchen, but the choices are limited in polished nickel. Now I'll look at California Faucets, too, but I'll skip Rohl, since someone mentioned the polished nickel spots so much.
