Any brand of shelf liner that is 15 inches deep???
Comments (8)I have shelf liner on all my painted shelves in my old pantry. Makes sense to me. So easy to remove it to wash it in the kitchen if something leaks or spills. And the one I use "cushions" crystal when I set it down rim first. I also used it to line drawers and cabinets in new kitchen. Again, makes cleaning easy. I would order "Cushy Cupboards" --see link below to a recent discussion--in 24" width and cut it to fit with a yardstick and a razor blade. The 24" width fills up shelves quickly and it lies flat and even without cut edges curling up. It is a little pricey, but I have found it very worth every penny. Comments (3)Thanks, remodelfla, I'll check out the Velos. I wasn't sure if I'd have enough room for an OTR unit with only 30.5" to fit one in. Does anyone else have an OTR unit with less than 15" clearance over the cooktop? Would love to hear if that works well enough. I don't mind having it vented outside, it is on an outside wall, if my installer (hubby) can do that. Smiles....See More15' deep kitchen wall cabinets with 24' deep countertops? Help!
Comments (23)I know this is an old thread, but if anyone sees this and has faced my issue, I sure could use some ideas. We currently have 14" deep uppers from the 1930"s, which we love, and are currently in a long overdue remodel, which could involve up to 15" deep uppers. Our problem is the corner wall cabinet. Neither angle, at 24" sides, or eazy reach style, can come with 15" sides. While a 27" angle comes with 15" sides, I don't have 27" of wall space. I have considered an online RTA who will make a frameless easy reach in any size, have a face frame/door made by my cabinet supplier, but with 15" sides, I would have a door opening of approximately 12" I believe. Does this sound feasible?...See MoreHusband ordered 15 inch deep upper Ikea cabinets-- too deep??
Comments (20)We have 15" deep uppers on one side of our Kitchen with standard depth base cabinets (24"D) and counters (~25.5"D) - we have no issues and I don't notice them when I'm working in front of them - and we're a tall family (I'm 5'10" - the shortest!) We have 12" deep uppers on the other side of the Kitchen and I wish we had gone with 15" deep on that side as well! I work primarily on the side with the 15" deep uppers (our Prep & Cooking Zones). Regarding the depth - it should be 18" from the bottom of the light rail to the finished counter so standard small appliances will fit under the upper cabinets. Most countertop small appliances (mixers, coffeemakers, etc.) are designed to fit with an 18" backsplash. If you want to go higher, consider whether you can reach the cabinets (as was mentioned earlier). I probably wouldn't go much higher if you plan to sell in a short time.
